Struggling through second winter here, got down to 50 last night. Should be back in the 80's this week though. Hotter than heck is right around the corner.

 

I just don't want to deal with those ABC store states.

 

I think we’re in either redbud or dogwood winter, still have blackberry and 1 or 2 more I think.

 

I got a call from Illinois about 9:15 last night gruff voice says "Hey bud this is Rusty" I immediately thought I wonder how @RustyGreen got my number & wonder what he needs? Turns out it is a friend of mines dad that we used to meet once or twice a year in Missouri for a canoe trip, haven't talked to the old dude in a few years----I realized I spend too much time on Tacoma World if the 1st person that came to mind is someone from this site I never met

I’ve known a few people personally who have taken their own life. It’s very sad.

We had a class about it at the FD once (circa 1994ish) and one of the teachers said “suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem”. That has always stuck with me.

 

Jinxed myself with the smartass struggling through winter comment, totally dead battery this am, not even a click. It's brand new bought it yesterday and put the one from my truck in the beater when I sold it. Not sure what was pulling on it but my noco nb20 jump box saved my ass today. Cranked right over and off we go.

Speaking of batteries, I need to get 2 for the Duramax, they are getting weak and the clock on the radio keeps resetting when I start it

 

We went and looked at 14 acres yesterday, only about 5-7 of it usable due to a big steep valley. They showed an old well in the pictures, my wife ask the agent and she had to call the land owner. Long story short he said there used to be an old mobile home on the place but it got torn down, blah blah. I walked through the briars to the valley and found where they put the old house

I told my wife if we're paying for 14 acres I'd like to at least be able to use it, if we can only use 5-7 no point in paying for 14. The search continues.

 

A friend of mine wants me to make a sliding escape door on his big middle door in his aluminum cattle trailer.

We’ve had this piece of 2” aluminum tubing at work for a really long time. I ask my boss what he’d take for it, he got a quote on a new piece, $155

He said how’s $50 sound? I said great!

Now I got to make it and cut some of their old one apart to make it all work, I’m gonna trade it for deer corn

 

Did he charge you for all that dust too?

Starting off my last year as a 'thirty' year old tired and sore as hell from working in the yard all weekend.

I woke without my alarm this morning but then went back to sleep after letting the dog out and feeding the cats. I felt better/ more awake the first time up.
Plan on looking at the seal replacement dilemma today and clean the grease off some. I also need to look at what kind of a guide goes into the transfer case shifter. The guide inside disintegrated.

 

I'm in for a piece of that action!
