Just talked to her about it and after a bit of convincing, I put down the deposit on the manual TRD Sport. Should be delivered to the dealer next week!

Dealer doesn't provide much info. I just keep an eye on it via SET and the dealers website. When it gets a permanent VIN I'll get some info out of them.

Just realized on my deal sheet provides a Stock # with build week 14. I also am showing a real VIN. How would a week 14 get built before a 13? My build is a MT without tech package etc, so possible part shortage holding certain models up?

Not sure if I can post here but.... if I want to secure my own financing, would I need the exact delivery date?

Also, they're selling to me at MSRP but who knows what else they'll try to sell on the back end. How would you know how much to finance? I've never financed on my own and have only got threw a dealer but, I think I can get a better rate.

When it gets close to delivery date, you go to your lenders and get the best rate…. You bring it to the dealer and ask if they can match it- if not, you go through your bank/CU

Thank you... I'm pressing on my dealer a bit more to get a firm date if they have one yet. The whole process has been so incredibly vague on their end. This forum has been very helpful.

Did you get a signed purchase agreement with the price when you put a deposit down? If so, then you shouldn't have any extra haggling to do when it comes in.

My credit union told me that they needed a purchase agreement that shows the real VIN. Dealer probably wouldn't have that until they get a set delivery date/range. You could try to get pre-approved by a bank or credit union. Those are usually good for about a month. That will give you a good idea of what you would get approved for and the various rates.

I bet your truck was built on time. I have read/heard that the tech package is holding up the process because of the blind spot monitoring components.

That's the thing. I signed a paper that had the specs & MSRP on it. Nothing on it said "purchase agreement". I'm wondering if I should reach out and try to get one.

Thats my guess as well. Based on what I have heard its the only thing that makes sense as to why I have passed others in line at production.

I think that is about the same as I have. It has their signature, my signature, the vehicle info with VIN (even though it's a temporary VIN), and price. I sure hope that holds up. I will try to get a permanent VIN before looking at financing though based on what others have said. I am probably going to shop around and see what rates are. I tried to get an estimate of their rate and they wouldn't even say a number. They said it changes too much to tell which I kind of understand but they wouldn't even give me a ball park range. They did bring out a sheet with an estimated payment but it was just dead wrong. It estimated my payment about double what it should be even with a crazy interest rate of over 10% when inputting the same information into a different financing calculator. So that doesn't exactly build trust with the dealership.

Welp, the purchase on that manual TRD Sport didn't go well. If someone in the S/E Wisconsin area wants to pay WAY over MSRP, Racine Toyota has one for ya.
Not sure who is keeping that log of dealers charging over MSRP, but you can add Zeigler Toyota to it. They also said the lowest they'd go OTD was $48...crazy!
Guess I'm waiting for my lunar rock to get built.

All my local dealer did was kill a 20 year relationship with my family. We used to lease 3+ new Toyotas, and purchased a few every 5 years roughly… once they started playing games during this last year, they lost that business for good. I’m always surprised at how financially foolish people are especially when making the 2nd largest purchase of their lives. “Oh whats the monthly payment over that 10 year loan? I have to impress my neighbor Becky and get rammed”

So, I emailed my sales guy asking for a "purchase agreement".... he came back with my "pre-purchase agreement". I asked for an actual "purchase agreement" and he just sent me my original pre-purchase agreement back to me LOL. He's being careful to not have anything in writing in our emails.

Anyone think I should press harder on them?
