That corner weld is about the best you hope for. Mine look pretty much the same. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has problems with soot as well.

It was funny. Wife and I were talking about building another boat.

That looks better than what I could do.
No, I searched "guitar pick dick pic". I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.
Walter makes a machine to take the soot off stainless and aluminum.

    I think it uses electrolysis.

Worst seas I was ever in was late 80s, on a submarine during a fall storm in the Atlantic heading to the UK. We were running on the roof, storm came up wayyyy quicker than the forecast predicted, and we got trapped on the surface. We use say, "There's nothing like a Force 10 at 400 feet", but damn... a submarine on the surface in shitty weather? That is the worst of the worst of the worstestest!

I would imagine having most of your mass below the water makes it easy for the waves to throw a submarine around?

Why was the ship trapped on the surface?

Yep, a 'more-or-less' round hull, almost all of which is under water and a big sail sticking up...

Once the sea state reaches a certain level we don't dive* as the transition between being surfaced and fully dived can be sketchy in rough water. A big wave hits the fit while you're transitioning, and it can actually push you right over, as you don't have a keel or deep hull like a regular ship.

*Peacetime safety restrictions; in wartime of course all bets are off.

Just did 3 hours on the weed eater and lawn mower. First good sweat I've broke since last June. I'm already sore. Time for a hot shower and get Mama to make me a sandwich .:sandwich:

It's very nice weather today, sunshine, warmth and very little wind. Believe I'm going to do a little yard clean up work before I wash down that transmission. Plus the dog is out with me enjoying the outdoors as well.
