Never been off road just street driving, about 3k miles lightly driven from and to work ,never gone over 4k rpms. Noticed discoloration on the pipes from the leak ,currently at the dealership waiting for the output shaft seal, what do you guys think?

Its under warranty nothing to worry about, I had my cadillac in the shop almost a year off and on over the time I owned it. Now that was a lemon that I sued them over. Ended up taking the settlement and selling it off. In GM defense they did extend my warranty to over 100k and it was transferrable. It was all minor stuff and an idling issue that was hard to find. Had a ton of work and I just didn't like paying that much for something with those issues. Nice thing was i had a brand new cadillac every other month because they always wanted them back before 3k miles so they could sell them. I had like 8 different cadillacs over the time of ownership and everyone thought I was a baller lol

Slip style shaft seals can leak easily, a small peace of dirt or gravel can cut the seal and cause a leak.

It's covered under warranty and they fixed it. Hardly a lemon.

My 2019 with 27,000 miles had this happen 2 months ago. The dealership replaced the seal under the powertrain warranty. 2 weeks later it was leaking again. Brought it back and they replaced the entire drive shaft and a new seal. No leaks again since then. I did a drain and fill on the transmission after since a decent amount of fluid had been leaking. It was 3/4 quart low.

Dealer just called I guess they started to fix the seal ,
And now they saying they need to replace the whole drives haft, saying there some damage,
But ? To Sgrif513 did you feel anything weird when yours was leaking ? And how did you know that it was low on the fuild? Is there a dip stick somewhere? Wondering why they didn't fill it up

Before the driveshaft was replaced, the truck was having vibrations on acceleration, but I had thought that was normal as it's been reported by numerous people on tacomaworld. There were also some hard shifts from time to time after the driveshaft was replaced. After the second leak, I was concerned about the lower transmission fluid level. Since there isn't a dipstick on the sealed transmission, I did the recommended procedure for a drain and fill found here:
