$700-800 for UCAs is dumb and price gouging. Prove me wrong

The point was gusseting the old design with the kind of gusset Camburg and TC put on their tubular models. That’s because the welds were breaking on the old design. I was saying gusseting a cast piece isn’t how to solve the problem unless you just start plating the whole thing.

Shit, you think those prices are bad? Try buying parts in Canada! I just paid $950CAD for SPC UCAs. Plus tax and shipping.

Sliders? I'd be looking at ~$2000CAD just get bare steel ones to my door.

I don't even really have a choice either. I'm at the mercy of what local (not even local to me, just located in Canada) shops carry for options. The parts are almost always significantly more than US MSRP, but at least you know what you'll be paying. Anything you order from the states has a high chance of getting dinged with ~30-40% "brokerage fees" from UPS, Fedex or DHL based on their declared value when crossing the border. You wanna talk about scams?

Save your Sheckles and order all your upgrades to a friend down here in the states.

Then plan a road trip down here to have it all installed.

Oh trust me, I've considered doing this. Unfortunately I'm a good 8 hours (2 tanks of gas) from any decent sized US city that would have an acceptable install shop. And a tank of gas = $125 right now. So not really practical since I'd still have to pay for someone to install my parts.

I do my own wrenching so I save enough to cover the criminal shipping charges and markups. But still stings knowing how much I'm getting hosed compared to my southern taco bros.
