So i finally found a Tacoma TRD OF in lunar rock but they are asking for a 2k market adjustment. I honestly really want the truck, my current car has had some coolant issues the last week that have been fianlly resolved and i think its time to upgrade. Just wanted your guys thoughts and opinions if i should send it?

I could afford it...and at almost 70 years old this could be my last truck. I keep my vehicles for about 15+ years and pay cash. But..if you are young, and/or don't have a lot of extra spending money, and will finance, either get your current vehicle fixed or shop around. Realistically the Tacoma is greatly over priced as it is, much less a mark up. Just my two cents.

And look at Ford / GM.

This is really a personal decision, so many aspects factor into this equation; will this affect your budget? is money no factor? do you feel getting the truck now in the color you want is worth 2k? etc... If this were me I would wait, only because I refuse to pay any addendum...kind of my little way of sticking it to the man I guess. Nevertheless, I understand the trying times we face, and the difficulty many encounters finding a Tacoma, especially if the truck found is the exact configuration one was looking for. If Lunar Rock is your dream and the 2k mark-up isn't a big factor then go for it or if the 2k hits the pocketbook a little harder then wait.....

Shop around, you can have a truck shipped half way across the country for less than half of that markup price if you can find a dealership that isn't charging one.

When I was looking for my truck not a single dealer in California had anything other than doublecabs. Went on autotrader.com and the closest truck I found that was exactly what I wanted was at a Toyota dealership 1000+ miles away. Was able to talk them down to a price too good to pass up so I pulled the trigger over the phone and it was only $600 to have it shipped to me

How hard was it to talk them down over the phone though? tried it a couple of time with zero luck, especially with demand being as high as it is

Wait until the last day of the month, go in the late morning. In the meantime, find a comparable Frontier for less (preferably at MSRP), and let them know the increase has you leaning toward the other truck. Might get lucky?

It sounds like you've already convinced yourself that you're going to get it "I can afford it and I keep vehicles for 15yrs. I'm almost 70".

If you can afford it and it will make you happy, get it. You'll be the coolest pimp at the nursing home soon, and all because of your LUNAR rock Tacoma. Those old bitches will be dropping their depends for you quicker than you can say 4pm dinner!

Yeah I was pretty amazed. I just paid for open trailer since it was a bit cheaper and I figured it would be fine, but it showed up in 2 days in an enclosed trailer anyways.

Yea I think this is honestly more of a personal finance question than a Tacoma question. What's it worth to you personally at this particular moment in your life? One part of me thinks if you have to ask whether you should, then you probably shouldn't. The other part of me thinks "screw it; it's not my money and I want to see this guy's sweet new Taco" haha.

Just $2K? Never thought I would ever say this, but that seems like a bargain in this day and age! If MSRP + $2K does not give you any financial heartburn then do it.
