Thought I'd bump this with a funny observation I just made, and I didn't really know what thread to post it under, so I'll use this one and get a bump to boot. The truck's still available. Thanks for the pm's too. Good folks here.

Anyway, needless to say as a rule of thumb I don't watch kids cartoons lol, but we have family here for the holidays, and we get like 8000 cable channels, and as I walked by the rec room I had to do a double take. Have any of you guys with kids ever seen "Blaze and the Monster Machines" on Nickelodeon JR?

I swear ol' Blaze is a 2nd Gen with a hood-scoop.

Edit: actually he looks like he might be a first generation, I had a '99 and he kinda reminds me of that. Did they offer the hood scoops back then though? I don't think they did, or I think I would have held out for one. I know I would have held out if I had ever seen one. Love the hood scoop!

 

She's still sitting out in the barn. I just went out and fired her for the first time in at least a month.

Still has the CEL, P0012, so I went ahead and bought the OEM VVT gear from the Toyota dealership, I just haven't put it on. I should have went with that the first time instead of getting a used one off ebay for $50. OEM was $255.

Runs perfect either way. I'm starting to think it just might be the aftermarket oil control solenoid I put on. Apparently, reading in some other forums, the ports in some of these don't line up. You'd think they would, but who knows. I know it works though because I can put 12V on it and see it move. But those ports and how they line up is very important. Maybe Autozone got a bad batch.
I bought a new filter for it too. The OCV filter, but I had cleaned the old one real well and it looked fine.

As always, no big hurry to sell it, she'll find the right home eventually.
Folks have told me that price is pretty fair so I'll leave it there for now.

I stumbled on this thread because I also have a 2011 long bed 4x4 Sport and I'm hesitant to sell. Mine also sits in my shop, due to purchase in January of a 2022 Tacoma. Really weird that I also sold a '99 Tacoma to buy the 2011. The more I read the stranger it got. Anyways, hope you sold the truck, and I don't have to deal with all the weirdos when I decide to let mine go down the road!

It's still here. I have made zero effort to sell it lol, actually drove it last week. Battery was dead. Keeps dying overnight. It's old though. Might go buy one today.
It holds a charge though once it starts and you shut it off. It just dies overnight it seems. No biggie. I'll get a new one at wmt.

The truck is still available. I actually had it sold to a friend and then the kid he was buying it for got in some trouble so he decided it was probably not a good idea.

Anyway, I sill have it. Went out and started it today, all's well. I have not bought a new battery yet. I just used the charger. But it fired right up.
So if anyone responds this week, I promise I'll reply.

Read the whole thread though if you will, pretty sure most or all questions have already been answered.
And regarding interior pics, I am only going to remove those seat-covers for the most serious of buyers. I already said, the seats are perfect. They're oem seatcovers I put on the day the truck rolled out of the dealership. They fit tight and I'm not inclined to take them off. Call me lazy. I am. But the seats are perfect. The carpet sucks, but I addressed that already too.

Regarding a Carfax, which a few have requested. It's like this: come out and see the truck with cash in hand, and you can get all the Car-Faxes you want. I'm not getting one and sending it to someone I don't know on an internet forum.
The CarFax will come back clean. If my word is not good enough until you see the truck in person, then go buy another one. I could care less. Like I said, the Carfax will come back clean. Original owner, and never wrecked. End of story. The door f/u is covered in this thread.

 

Dammit. I picked up a 17 OR DCSB back in Feb (great truck) but would have 100% gone after this if I had only known it was here.... I blame @Sasquatch3153 for not sharing it sooner

A good buddy of mine runs a small fab shop in Ohio. We meet up twice a year at Windrock Park in Tennessee and do some intense wheeling. He brings a couple of his friends and family members who have various vehicles including but not limited to a third gen Taco Pro, FJ cruisers etc.

He's on here but I have no idea what his name is and he's not very active just lurks a lot.

I sent him the listing just so he can take a look at it and if he was interested or knew anybody I was hoping they could buy your truck.

It's funny, I pretty much logged in every day this week and I had zero PM's about the truck, but if I skip a few weeks, I'll get a half dozen. Never fails. Maybe it's the price of gas. I should just lower the price. These things are horrible on mpg anyway, and I really don't need the truck anymore. You guys all seem to think $17.9 is a fair price, but honestly, and you'll probably never read these words again on a Tacoma forum, but I think it's too much. considering what I paid for it new. Why be greedy, it gets ya no where in the end. So lets knock $1200 off and go with $16.7
I know I could maybe get more if I really tried to sell it, but whatever, plus I have plenty of friends that have trucks I can borrow if I really need one, and lord knows I'm owed more than a few favors. I must say though, It is cool to take it out and drive around every now and again, there's no denying that. She's been a great truck, she really has. And she's still pretty. Unlike the the ex'es.

 

Bump for you. I'm getting real close to buying a CPO F150 so I'll have to part with my Tacoma. Very sad to do so seriously. Watching some for sale. GLWS
