Does anyone elses truck ride like a donkey?

I have put up with this for some time now and im getting sick of it? How good do the tacomas ride normally with a lift? real decent or really really stiff?
This is what I have done I have had the rear tsb done, billy 5100s all the way around and ome 885 coils with nitto terra grappler tires. 285/70/17
What could be making my truck ride so bad.
I replaced the rear shocks a few months back and had no diffrence in ride.
When i hit a bump it almost makes me loose control of the truck cause it throws it all over the place.

Stock UCA's? You may not have enough caster for those 33's

 

Its that rear leaf set thats killing you. The stock rear leaf's suck, and than when they throw that additional leaf on there it sucks even worse. The billies make the front ride much better but when you go over the road the front makes smooth contact and the rear makes stiff contact so it feel like the amount of suspension feedback you are getting never changed, even though its the rear leafs making it feel that way. I went with the OME Dakar leaf pack from toytec, not it rides smooth all the way through

 

He said rides shitty, caster being off would make it drive shitty.

 

My money is on the fact that your PSI is way to high in the tires. Go 32 in front, 34 in back..or your roads suck like they do up here when the ground freezes and everything heeves and rides like shit...so its not your truck is everyone feeling the jarring of the road bumps.

I think a big part of it may be the fact that the back of the truck is so light. Mine rides like a Cadillac, but I've got a shell. I've got just the stock Bilsteins. Try throwing a dirtbike in the back and see if it smooths out.

I had NTGs before the Duratracs and had no issues with them seeming to be made of cement.

I think it rides just fine, but the truck I drive at work bounces like a trampoline so how would I know..

 

Unless you're loaded, you should do the opposite. The majority of the weight is over the front, the back ends of the truck are very light. You should be running more pressure in the front tires vs the back unless you've got some additional weight in the bed. The stock leafs and hard tires would make the situation worse.

 

Quick Question. I got 285 70 17 bfg allterrains. What should the psi be on those? Every place I go tells me different. Mainly for highway driving.

 

Alrite I forgot to mention that i did get the add a leaf from toytec to lift the back up but it wasnt the dakar.

As far as ucas i went with the light racing.

And tires i have set on 32 all around i just checked it.

No, but tires are the easiest thing to adjust. If your tires are rock hard, they won't help the suspension absorb any of the bumps in the road.

those Nittos are 10 ply which is way to heavy for our little Tacoma's. Get something 6 or 8 ply and you will be g2g.

I would say probably not. I'm at 32 psi myself but I've got 265/65R17. You could always do the chaulk test to see how your tires are doing with the pressure you're running. The chaulk test is simply drawing a chaulk line across the tire, driving for a short distance and then examining the line. If it's wore in the center of the tread and untouched on the outside of the tread, you've got too much pressure in your tires. The opposite if the line is only worn at the outside edges of the tread. The line should wear off nice and even. There's no magical tire pressure since so many of us run different size tires, encounter different road conditions and have different brands and load ranges.

 

cant do the chaulk test till spring lol and ive had this truck since 2008.
And my father has a tundra that rides alot better thats why i was just wondering.
My truck didnt seem to always ride this bad just within the last 8 months.
Maybe it is my leaf springs but i would hate to buy just buy and try stuff when i dont know wut it is.
