Double pic above….however…the above screen shots were taken within a minute or so if the truck being started after a true cold start waiting overnight. No issue. Fired right up. Idled high then settles down just like I expected. Drove it 20 miles and let it idle while I shopped in a store

The above data was collected after full operating temp and driven 20 miles while idling in a parking lot

I've got a weird one...any missing heat shields between the fuel line and engine hot areas?

    Cold, no problem.
Hot but was running and fuel flowing moments ago, no problem
Hot and sits a while, fuel gets heat soaked and vapor locks?

When you are having this no start issue. Pull a sparkplug wire off the drivers side of engine. plug a spare sparkplug into wire and lay sparkplug body against a metal surface. Have someone crank it while you watch for spark.

I have not had this issue with my Tacoma, but the symptoms you describe is a notorious problem with the Jeep Cherokee XJ with a faulty crank sensor. Depending on how the Tacoma computer works, fuel injector pulse and/or ignition signal is determined by one or both of these sensors. In the Jeep XJ, when the crank sensor was hot no signal was sent and therefore no injector or ignition signal. The only difference between the XJ problem I'm familiar with and yours is that in the XJ the vehicle would often shut down while driving. You haven't mentioned that happening, but maybe you're not driving it far enough to figure that out.

As people have mentioned, this is most definitely a "heat soak" problem. Once your vehicle is shut off, with no coolant circulating and no fan spinning, the engine will heat up a bit higher than when it is running. This is why this problem usually presents itself upon a restart within a half hour to hour after the vehicle is turned off. If you have not replace either of these sensors I would start there.

I have actually seen this when cranking on a Ford because voltage was slightly lower- push start always worked!

OP, load a file manger on your phone so you can get the whole live data file and transfer to a real computer, open in excel.

When it wont start....have u pulled some of the plugs and looked at em....

when I had a head gasket leak.....swapping out a couple of the plugs for dry ones....allowed the engine to struggle to run long enough to burn the other plugs off.....

I don't think we want the OP to get off track. A head gasket problem will always provide clear indications of the problem, such as coolant loss, over heating, misfire, ECT. He hasn't mentioned having any of those.

I have kinda tapped out. Meaning....I read through many pages of some chick that was having similar issues on here a few years ago. Somewhere around page 143 a member was gonna pull working injectors from his 4Runner and mail them to be swapped to test the theory. It worked.

So I ordered a set of OEM injectors off the interwebs and I will have to pay for someone to install them. I am too swamped to attempt and live very rural. If I botch something or am left with extra parts....it's a flat bed tow a long way to somewhere. Should be here today and hopefully can get someone to install them early next week.

I've received a ton of suggestions and support. Realizing this is difficult to diagnose over the Net.

Where did you order the injectors from? I only ask because there are a lot of fakes on the internet, particularly eBay & Amazon. See some of @CS_AR posts

make sure the injectors you get have the testing lot number inscribed on them

there are legit sellers on eBay. I've ordered off there before and been OK. Just double check them closely when they arrive. Make sure the seller isn't based out of China or something, if they are then I would probably cancel it

based in the US, has great reviews (no negatives)...but then again I'm not that familiar with ebay's review system or how easy it might be to hide negative reviews. 6 OEM injectors for $260 is pretty damn cheap though so that's one concern.

I wouldn't cancel it but I would just make sure to check them closely when they arrive.
