Here in CA, M1 is for all motorized 2-wheeled vehicles, M2 is for any motorized bike, moped, scooter that doesn't exceed 30mph

We have your normal drivers license, a motorcycle permit (valid for 6mo after you pass your written test, renewable once, with some limitations), then a 2 wheel endorsement and a separate 3 wheel endorsement that requires a separate class and skills test. When I did my class I was able to roll both the written and skills tests into the class and knock it all out in 1 day.

Fuel injection would be nice but well maintained carbs aren't too awful. Not sure what I'm paying for insurance as all 3 bikes are on one policy but probably not much more than than maybe $60-75 per year for this one. Antique tags means permanent registration here in PA and no state inspections.

I seriously doubt I could get on a Grom for what I have in this bike. Paid $600 for it in 2010. Repaint with new decals was around $550, carb rebuild kits around $60 for the full set with new jets. I won't count the new tires, chain, or battery as they're consumables like oil and filters. Did everything myself except paint it. I might have a total of $1600 in it with replacement NOS parts and could likely sell it for a profit should I choose. One of the best parts though is that the original owner was a teacher at my high school and I got to take it over to his house and show it to him once it was done. He hadn't seen it in years and he'd never taken any pictures of it when he bought it way back in 1977. It always gets compliments and fuel stops often take some time with answering questions from folks who "used to own one just like it" back in the day.

Maybe in a few years we'll look back at Groms like that.....

People come up to me all the time at gas stations asking what it is and how much gas mileage it gets. I am 6’3 so I look like a monkey F’ing a football when I ride it.
Also you can’t sell a classic to get a grom, a grom is an extra bike on top of the ones that you have.

I have an interesting (HR unapproved) idea on how to get 15-20 feet of offroad time each day :D

    That’s UGLY! :puke:
This looks a lot better. Just needs Baja designs instead.

Assuming it cleared the fork stanchions, you could easily mount a 20" bar across the front of the crash bar. Then a 6-10 incher vertically on each side.

    o_Oo_O

2 factory lights or 6 BD? How about a pair of LP4 for fogs? All of these are ideas for me. I dont even know if I still want S1s.. theyre too small! Maybe Squadron Sports like on my truck.

These are the specs of the Fuzeblock FZ1 that I will get:
    • 2 - Onboard diodes to prevent transient voltages (Good news for Canbus bikes)
    • Each circuit can handle up to 10A
    • The total amperage for the entire FZ-1 should not exceed 30A
    • Wiring gauges up to 12AWG

Thats a sweet setup, but as a prior RB resident, the beach is 100' from street to ocean and has a paved road that runs full length North to South for their jurisdiction. Not sure those tires are worth the squeeze. Gotta justify that budget though!

I have two Denali D4s (8750 lumen) and two D2s (2190 lumen) on my 1250R. Driving at night is not bad at all now.
