Super squeaky front suspension. HELP!!!!

Holy hell!!
Just like the Pirate who put a steering wheel in his pants, THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!
My 02’ 4wd has King coilovers & Camburg upper control arms.
I replaced the 1” uniball joints about 6 months ago. Since then there has been a squeak devolving in my front suspension that has gotten very loud! As of 2 days ago it now squeals like Ned Beaty in “Deliverance” when I turn the wheel either direction.
Few things annoy me more than noisy racket coming from my truck! I’ve spent a lot of money making this truck awesome, but this makes it sound like rolling scrap.

If anyone has an idea of what the problem may be please help a brother out!

An easy try is

$21 AT-205 Re-Seal Stops Leaks, 8 Ounce Bottle

AT-205 in a spray bottle and hit all rubber bushings. Last about 6 months for me.

 

maybe power steering belt squeaking???

Yes. The stuff is a rubber rejuvenator made for leaking transmission gaskets but works great on any rubber product.

AT-205 was not going to help in my case, as the rubber bushings in my lower control arms were completely worn out. I hope that's not the case for you. My point is that if something like this is thoroughly worn out and causing your issue, you'll need to replace it. Diagnosing it may be tricky, but you can always pay a reputable repair shop to do the diagnosis. Different things can cause a squeaky suspension.

 

I had this going on too. For a few days it was really squeaky over every bump and turn, then it got less and less to the point I thought it had magically fixed itself. Then it came back but not as bad so I took it in. Dealership says you have worn out tie rod ends. OK, replace those. Few days later there's a faint squeak again for about a day and now it's been silent. So I dunno wtf...

 

is there bearings in the upper and lower areas of your king shocks,if so check those

 

How many miles on the Kings. Sounds like it could be the lower spherical bearings on the shocks. Spray them with a water hose and see if the noise changes any. Not a fix but easy identifier.

 

Kings have around 80k. I’ll try that today

 

80K is a lot, even if it is only street driving. Throw some offroading into the mix and your shocks are overdue for a rebuild, even if a seal isn't leaking yet.

FWIW, that lower bearing is what goes first on mine. I usually change them before they start to squeak. I typically get 25-30K out of a set and at that point they are getting very loose. Squeaking indicates a metal on metal situation where their teflon lining is completely gone. Eventually they will start to wear in their mount. Once that happens, it starts to get more expensive to fix. A COM10T bearing will cost you about $10 each for the cheaper versions.

 

Seriously?! Only 25k on a thousand dollar set? That’s kinda shitty..

How hard are these to rebuild?

 

The lower spherical bearings are an easy swap. And range in price depending on quality. I have found the FK brand with their F1 spec to last the longest. Of course you pay a little more than the plain old COM10T bearings.

I’ve noticed over the last couple months that my tires are wearing unevenly . More wear on the inside. All of my previous sets of front tires wear the same way eventually, after an alignment they wear evenly for 6months to a year, then back to wearing on the inside.

could this be evidence that my tie rod ends need to be replaced ? Or something else perhaps ?
