I have probably eaten things that would make pop tarts seem healthy.

    Yes but . . .
Around here before the pandemic, Sam's Club used to carry Pop Tarts in a "big" box that had (I think) three of the 8-pack boxes in it. Now they still carry them, but they NEVER have the Brown Sugar Cinnamon ones any more. The Pop Tarts in the box from Sam's were individually wrapped in a fully-printed wrapper. The only ones we can find around here now at the grocery store are different... plain silver wrapper, and the crust is different, and there's less filling. I think they come from a different plant. :puke:

They’re dessert after my spaghetti O’s , which I love

While cold ones are not only bland they’re tiring to eat, yet heat them up with some honey and cinnamon or brown sugar and they’re delicious.

I never had a 1/32 scale slot car set, but I had a 1/24 scale Cox Ferrari with a 1960s style torpedo body and open wheels. It was so small it would run on the 1/32 scale track with a little modification.

But it was a whole different animal as far as the motor went, and it regularly beat all my friends cars on their track.

I remember when poptarts first came out. They were much better. Right away they cut the filling in half. We were so disappointed, that we quit asking Mom to buy them.

The icing got thinner. Then there was less of it, then the whole thing got smaller. Eventually the whole tart shrank about 33% in size and got kinda crumbly, where they were originally more like pastry.

A potato is still pretty much the potato of the 1950’s.

Not so for ANY of the popular packaged foods that came out in my youth. All of them have become somehow different, even if only subbing corn syrup for beet sugar.

Is it better or worse? Some of each perhaps, but the evolution of the Poptart is a parallel for society at large.

Yes. Some food, store brands are ok. Pop Tarts isn't one of them. I won't touch store brand "toaster pastries".
