I’m dropping the pipe I have off to him this evening and he’s gonna take the 4Runner and the CATs I gave him to an exhaust shop to get it fixed. That’s the smartest thing I can think to do right now? The exhaust mechanic will be able to tell if he can just bolt it on for him or not. We’ll see and I’ll get back on the thread to let everyone know if it bolted up or not. Thank you everyone for your input! I sure do love Tacoma World!

Dude's probably going to get charged with attempted manslaughter for it in CA though lol.

First - sorry that your friend is having to deal with this.

I can't imagine living in CA - it has gotten insane - if you don't punish people, they will just do WTF ever they want while the rest of us suffer.

Some F/tard takes my cats - it is gonna be straight piped 100% b/c all I have to pass is a 'safety' inspection eg. do my tail lights work and such..

It takes a special scumbag to steal from a church.

The cut wires probably means 02 sensor, hopefully yours on the donor piece is good and compatible. It could possibly be easier to cut out and weld in the cats vs unbolting the entire thing and installing the replacement.

You could check a couple places & get prices. Welding takes some skill but it's a welding rod, not a magic wand. Some places will overcharge.

Thank You! Yes CA is getting very bad everywhere. Used to be safer up here in Northern CA Redding area but now it is overrun with homelessness and junkies. We live way up in the mountains in a small old logging town so where I am it’s still okay for now but with the green rush we’ve seen a major influx of rich immigrants and scumbags that could care less about the ecosystem. And the state and local governments could care less either… as long as they get their cut

We talked about straight piping it but with these ECU’s and CEL it will be dumping way to much raw fuel into the cylinders. With CA gas prices up here over $6 a gallon we can’t have that.

Thanks and yes I’m gonna search up a few exhaust places for him to take it to.

I just went and compared the exhaust diagrams at Toyota.com and the Tacoma and 4runner CATs look to be the same numbers and all! The only difference is the length of the pipe just before the muffler which is the difference between extended cab and extra cab. All the same schematics for both vehicles with an insert for the slightly longer tail pipe! Woohoo looks like the Taco pipe I gave him will work! I gave him the whole thing including the Y pipe all the way back to the muffler baffle so it should be a bolt on Fix!! Thanks
