Has anyone put the 2005-2008 Toyota seat covers on the seats with airbags? I dont know why they say you cant use them with those seats because the sides are mostly open and don't seem to cover the airbag area? I was going to take them in and have some of the side taken out but not sure if I need to.

Are you talking about OME covers? If that is the case, and they are designed for side air bags you will be okay.

If you are talking about aftermarket covers (e.g. Wet Okoles), and your Tacoma has side air bags, you need to ensure that the covers your purchase are designed to aallow the bags to deploy.

Take a close look at the side of the seat back in my picture. The "slit" is slightly over lapped to allow the air bag to deploy. I never notice it.

I oft wonder how well that works. SPeed of the air bag might deem those flaps stuck solid.

    Old man emu seat covers.

You put OME instead of OEM in your original post.
