    Hey everyone,

I just installed my Diode Dynamics SS3 pods and am trying to utilize an Air On Board OEM switch. Everything works fine except the light on the switch is always illuminated. I did not install a 1 amp diode, could this be the cause of the light always being on? Sorry for the basic question, I am a novice at this and I did try searching the forum but couldn’t find anything.

    thanks

Did you use a fuse tap for the switch illumination? You may have tapped an always hot fuse.

I was planning on tapping the fuse for the headlights under the hood. Is this same location?

No, the one I was talking about was inside the cabin ~ driver side for the switch back light

ahh, gotcha. I like that better than routing to the engine compartment. What size fuse did you use for the switch? 5 amp enough? Or does it have to match the fuse size your piggybacking on?

I'm confused. The switch should have two LED's. One comes on when you push the switch to turn on lights or whatever you're turning on. The other is usually wired to a fuse tap tapped to you're panel/parking lights and it illuminates when you turn them on. How is your switch always lit up? Are you using their push style switch?

Im glad I’m not the only one confused. It is the push style, I don’t know why it is constantly lit up. The switch stays lit whether the pods are on or not. The installation instructions call for a 1 amp diode but I did not install because it didn’t make sense that I would need it for a single function switch. But I know just enough to get myself in trouble with this stuff.
