    I assume they would then need to pick the lock?... I bet it's a good deterrent because why not just steal a higher trim that's easier to steal? At least that's my hope.

    If I can stupify those idiots in any way I will lol. Only question is where to mount the hidden switch.

    If it's only occasional usage I'm thinking a person could get creative with its mounting spot.

    you could put it right in plan sight, but label it as something else like puddle lights, bed lighting or something else

    The fob will read in the back seat. I keep it in my gym back which sits on the back seat and have no issues starting the car.

    My blood boils everything I see them in that pic and then I calm my ass down when I think that it could have been worse. Hope things will go smooth with insurance.

    I threw an airtag in mine. They'll never find it. I know they're controversial but they've never let me down.

    That is still recommended and the smarter thief will cut the steering wheel.

    That's what I'm doing when I take delivery. I went with the Chipolo brand since it has a replaceable battery and works with the FindMy app.

    I'm more concerned about CAT theft where I am in SoCal. There are a few accessories I'm ordering and installing on the first day which include a cat shield. I'll likely go with RCI.

    OP sorry this happened to you. I hope karma comes in the form of them having to straddle a barb wired fence.

    Both my last cars have been a manual just for this reason. I knew from the get go that Taco's are high on thieves favorite list. Most of those stupid little thieving hobbitses are too stupid to drive one. I know I know...There are some tricksy little hobbits do know how to row gears but it's a layer of defense. I know very few people that know how to drive one. Efin little 12 sandwich a day eating choad smoking thieving efers. Sorry about your truck man!

    Quick reading about the Faraday cage;
    "If you have a microwave in your kitchen, that in itself is a form of a Faraday cage, keeping microwaves trapped inside the machine so that they heat your food and do not escape out, according to the journal Physics Education(opens in new tab)."

    Oh look, another mod....
    Well, you people have done it again. First you made me paranoid someone would steal my catalytic converter (that prompted me to buy a shield), now I'm even more worried my precious truck will get stolen.

    So I'm going to buy this: (it's the Air Tag for Android users). I think I'll order 2-3. That way I can hide two in the truck (incase one is found), and I'll have one as a backup or to use on something else.

    Actually for the OP benefit I hope he never sees that truck again. I know that if anyone stole my truck and had it for any length of time I wouldn't want it back.

    Dang. I hope those assholes get caught. Sorry you have to experience this crap. Hopefully insurance goes smoothly and you get a new one.
