He's basically just doing that so he can turn his prep over to the Nationals for a title defense. It should be a good season. If the rumor that a couple of the GP guys (Herlings, Caroli) may race the US series, that will make for an epic summer.

I'd be shocked if Cairoli came out of retirement for the US outdoors. But with enough $ anything is possible.

From how I understand it, it would only be select races. And I think some of it is just to help testing/development on the new bike (for Cairoli.)

For sure. I'll be at High Point, so I hope him and/or Herlings will be there, if they do come over. Lot's of talk but no official word yet. So we will see. But as far as Ferrandis, he is riding again and will be ready to go for the start of outdoors. I think they are just playing it safe, since his SX season didn't go well and the team doesn't need him out there, with Eli doing his thing.

Are they giving his seat to somebody else for the remainder of the season?

No. Just Chisolm on the 250 because there is no one on the East to ride the bike right now.

That’s crazy, there has to be something else going on if they aren’t using a whole factory team. I can understand Fernando not riding because he has absolutely sucked this year but to have a factory team bike just sitting for the rest of the year is insane.

Well DF is riding/practicing right now, that is fact. So while he may not be 100%, he's getting healthy. So I think the team is happy with him making sure he has his bike set-up and he's ready to go for outdoors. I would assume the team is banking on either him or Eli winning the outdoor title, so having him do the remaining SX rounds doesn't accomplish much, when they want him healthy and prepared for the Outdoors. And Eli is getting the 450 plenty of exposure (and hopefully a title) in SX. Chisolm is only riding the 250 because both guys are out, so they have no 250 on the track in the east. He would be the only guy that I could see them maybe using as a fill-in rider on the 450, but he will be on the 250 for 3 of the remaining 4 rounds, so there is no time and no real point at this stage of the series. I do get what you are saying but it's just too late in the series and no realistic options or benefits.

Agreed, Yami is making plenty of money off one rider, considering he is THE GUY right now. Pretty much every factory team only has a one man show at this point in the season.

Me thinks Eli is going to take the Outdoors this year. He had a rough start to the season in 2021 when DF was on an absolute roll, but was creeping back up second part of the series. Going to be damn exciting to watch soon!

Yep. He just started riding so I am pretty sure he will be healthy to start the series. Hopefully he gets the title. Bummer how that 1 crash really cost him the title last year. He was clearly riding injured those last couple rounds. If JMart is back, I hope 1 of those guys gets it for sure. Big fan of both.
