My two cats, and a rare time they're near the pups.

I was thinking he just knows that light could possibly draw in some type of flying insect for him to hone in on.

Nice size fish tank you got there too. Back in the mid 80's my late cousin had countless hours and some thousands of dollars maintaining a large salt tank. They sure were some cool fish and other critters in there as well.

My girl Skidder is a little uneasy this evening. I think she can sense the storm brewing. In another picture where cats take care of their business. I know we're all feeling the pinch of rising costs on everything, but the other day when I bought a bucket of cat litter it jumped a few dollars in price. Over $17.00 now. My wife said we might have to do like they did with her cat Fluffy when they lived in Iran. Used dirt lol20220412_194753.jpg 20220412_194623.jpg

Thanks for that, Rob. I bought a 1971 Scout II from Dad, who found it at our local mechanic's place and thought it needed to be rescued. I needed a newer rig in 1996, and he had a 1975 IH 1-ton (modified by American LaFrance as an airport service truck from Missoula County Airport. I crawled all over that scout with Dad coaching and tightened every nut, bolt, and screw before making the 2600 mile drive from an hour south of Missoula to Valdez, Alaska in September 1996. I had a year-old Brittany along so we'd stop every hundred miles to stretch and every second stop for fuel along the AlCan since many places shutdown after Labor Day. We spent a couple days with the couple that owned the pup's parents, going out to look for caribou one day, and I took the dog out to hunt grouse. I'd meet people along the way, they'd admire the truck, and one couple said they loved theirs and it finally rusted away. I still have the road test compilation book on the Scouts, which noted that IH didn't do any rustproofing on the interior side of the body panels until 1979, and 1980 was the last year of production. It had the 304 V8 with a Borg-Warner 3-speed automatic, and 2-speed transfer case. Interesting and it was destined to replace an older Scout seaplane lift truck (remove the rear half, and attach a fixed set of hydraulic bunks with wheels out beyond the nose of the truck to lift planes on straight floats out of the water at the launch ramp). 25 year old Scout II, epic voyage, and last year was the celebration of 50 years of the Scout II. (I have that coffee mug.) I got Mom and Dad back into corresponding with their old friends at Mountain Home, Idaho after visiting there in 1981, so Dad ordered a 5-speed transmission from Al Harris, who owned the implement dealership, and they all got together when it arrived and Dad drove down there to pick it up. That '75 was the livestock trailer puller and feed hauler for years, and since Dad was hard of hearing from being around airplane engines for twenty years, the gear driven valve train sound level didn't bother him. Probably why I don't listen to the radio or stereo while I'm driving either. (Above 45 mph, those trucks are screamin'.) Thanks again, Rob. There are no bad days, it's all good! Dad's Taco makes it good, too, as he and Mom will be riding with me always.

My first USFS job (1976) was in road preconstruction so I was given the task of weighing the gravel trucks at the pit so my cohort up the hill on the project would be able to mark off the distance for their gravel spread. One of the drivers had a beautiful metallic green Paystar, and whenever he pulled in to be loaded, he'd be out of the cab with a rag, wiping the dust off his pride and joy. The Transtar Eagle (buckskin lower, metallic red upper) was a looker, too.

It’s the beginning of tick season in a large part of the country. It’ll just get worse come May. Get Thor some flea/tick preventative or you’ll be overwhelmed with the nasty little bastards.
