Done by me: decals, plastidip, and vinyl. More to come. Not done by me: Icon front/rear suspension; Total Chaos UCA’s; Method wheels/34” Falken tires; Prinsu cab rack/LED light bar; V1Air compressor piped to a 2.5 gallon underbed tank; Pelfreybilt front/rear bumpers; Smittybilt front winch.
Greased the drive line and added spotter mirrors. Glad I ordered the Lock-N-Lube grease gun accessory kit, as the standard fitting that came with the gun just didn’t want to lock in the front zerk.

I bashed mine up on some boulders, and had a local driveline shop build me a new two-piece rear driveshaft (thicker gage and smaller diameter) and balance it for 400ish.

I just did mine not to long ago, it's pretty straightforward.

As long as you have a press and the proper wrench/socket sizes it's not bad at all.

I would recommend having an impact handy for stuck bolts and stubborn old u-joints that don't want to press out. Also, make sure to mark each of the yolks and flanges so that everything is clocked correctly exactly as it was when you took it off the truck. I recommend a center punch to add your clocking marks.

Also in CA, and it's $6+ at all the places around here. And the gas companies are making record profits this year ripping us all off.

Luckily I work from home so I can keep the miles down, but still annoying.

Slider delete? My rear slider surround has wear marks (deep grooves) where the PO had an aluminum tool box right up against it. It's only cosmetic but a new slider is $$$ and I was thinking about going with a solid window.

Sounds… sketchy. At least you were able to 4x4. Out of curiosity, were they the original u joints that failed?

Looking at this post makes me consider doing a non-sliding window for my 2nd Gen. It’s been so long since I opened it, and now that I have the RSI EVOa cap I doubt it’ll ever slide again.

I didn’t like the grill i ordered on Amazon bc the shell was weak and didn’t line up well, the weathwr seal wasn’t pre-attached. It was a nightmare. But the center inserts was removable. So i cut the center out of my OEM grill, dremmeled the edges down until the center insert would fit including some minir trimming ifninsert on back side. How many miles did you have on the truck before they let go? I always get paranoid about stuff like this with my truck.

Mine are ~145k miles and I was just told at my state inspection the other day, that my front uj is starting to develop a little slop.

Got these cool little stickers from @OCD TACO today. If it ever gets above 40 degrees I'll get one on the truck. These would be neat to do in the yellow/orange/red heritage colors too.

That gives me a little hope! I want to be able to swap mine on my timeline.. not out of an emergency need, if possible.

Smoked the front headlights with some vivid air release vinyl I had laying around. Only had the dark. I don't think the light output has been effected too noticeably. Time will tell.
