    My 8 Spline lugs are just starting to rust, might get a new set....anyone you guys trust? The ones I have from SCS are made by Gorilla I think - safe to just Amazon someone random it or is there a better route for peace of mine?

    A set of for 5 wheels + shipping would cost me about $100USD shipped (a third of that is shipping) from SCS.

    Amazon no-name lugnuts likely would rust even quicker. McGard is the other good brand, but I'm not sure if they make extended-thread small-diameter lugnuts.

    You can also try calling WheelsCo, they should have those lug nuts. I did buy few off them some time ago.

    Okay noted! Yeah anyone on Amazon that does fit - the main complaint is rust almost immediately. These SCS ones showed wear only after the 3-4th year so the coating was really good.

    I'll check out WheelsCo and compare the price! Much appreciated dudes.

    Rattle can them back to Black or paint em over with rustoleum.

    doesn't matter how many new ones you get, they will rust. Mine did and i just give em a new coat of paint

    That's the route if I don't feel like swallowing a new price, they've been fine for this long too.

    in my perspective it's a "why change it if it works?" type of view. yes you can spend $60 on a new set but they'll look the same in a year's time.

    Painting them means you can match them to the rims.
    the colours are endless!

    Need some input from members that have a winch please.
    Would this relay work for controlling a winch? The outside relays are latching and can be triggered with any momentary switch but I use the @MESO ones installed in a TRD Pro shift knob for an example. The inside relay is used to change the colour of a 2x colour LED I have embedded in the shift knob but could be connected to any LED to indicate devices being activated.

    from the sounds of things, no.

    are you planning on controlling the winch directly via a differnt relay and switch? I'm failing to see what you're trying to do here....

    edit: i reread it like 3 times now.

    so you're trying to control the winch from your shift nob because some coloured LED changes?
    fuck it, try it and tell us if it works. worst case you burn out the switch, best case is that it works.

    just daisy chain relays.

    Switch > Relay 1 > Relay ??? > winch controller > Winch output

    Did the link I provide not work? I fixed the permissions on the link just now.
    I don't have a winch to test with which is why I'm asking. Is it possible to connect the output of the latching relay to the control buttons of the winch?

    link works now

    so if the switch throws the relay behind the shifter, then the relay needs to have enough juice to flip the larger relay for the winch controller.

    in my edit above, Daisy chain the relays and activate a solenoid.

    Switch (on knob) most likely a 5V output

    > Relay 1 (Input clearly works as you hear the click and is most likely 5V. but check the output, it might be a 5V @ 5A out, or a 12v 5A out. if that does not match/ surpass the Winch controller relay then it wont work)

    > Relay 2 ( these work with a 5V/5A input which would activate the relay allowing a 12V step up. 12V step up using the relay might be needed to power a solenoid (solenoid being a much larger and higher amperage/ currant rated relay) this is needed as the solenoid is what will carry the 400A of power draw the winch itself needs. Unless you find a 400A solenoid that can be switched with a 5V signal from the switches, then i can only think of daisy chaining them.

    So
    Relay1)
    upload_2022-4-14_12-7-28.jpg
    Flips one of these 12V relays
    relay 2)
    upload_2022-4-14_12-7-39.jpg
    which flips one of these solenoids
    solenoid 1) which would send full power to the winch implying you didn't have a control box for the winch...
    386386.jpg

    I probably should have asked first but what winch do you have?
    if the winch does have a control box (most modern ones have), then you could just solve this issue with a wireless controller and hardwire it into the relay 1 above.

    @oostroma
    Wire the little black box to the winch's control box which trips the solenoid.
    Rip apart the hand-held wireless switch and wire that into your mini relay system.
    > provide power to it instead of battery
    > change physical button input into a wire'd input from the shift nob/ relay from the shift nob

    from my guess the wires are set like this:

    Black=ground
    red=power (receiver/ black box)
    Yellow=Power (spool in signal)
    White=Power (spool out signal)
    Blue=antenna
