I test drove the Nissan Prox and really went through it.
It’s not a bad truck and to each his own but I find it hard believe when people put it over or even close to the Tacoma TRD line.
I liked the Nissans Dash set up better and it has more pep but the rest of it just felt cheep…the interior felt more cramped and yes the sitting position is a little better stock but the Tacoma has options to make it better if need be.
    I don’t think there even close…

I've been reading CR for years. All that time they have bashed the Taco. Since the 2nd gen. Now CR is a couple mm's thin and the Taco is going to have a 4th gen. Who's laughing now?

The seats that are so much better on those other trucks, will be in the crusher at less than 150k miles, well Toyota trucks can hit 1 million miles.

I find that the criteria that Consumer Reports uses are irrelevant to my needs. Especially in the automotive sector.

Yes it sucks BIG time! I make her keep the inside girly free and nag at her every chance I get... I love her dearly but she is a power slob of the highest order. I am a neat freak so that makes it even worse. I ride a motorcycle most the time but at 50 that can get old. I am gonna get her a miata soon so I won't have to share anymore:D

Why doesn’t Consumer Reports attempt to reconcile their short-term reviews with actual consumers’ long-term experiences? Because it might invalidate their reviews?

Most reviews of new cars are terribly uninformative. They go over stats / features and give their opinion of how it drives. Rarely do you ever see a car review ever touch on hugely important things like longevity, durability, common failure items, etc. They will give a glowing review of how fun the Gladiator is but never mention they are replacing engines and axels left and right.

Not effected emotionally. But having the Tacoma as the #1 choice would have some effect on the resale of my truck.

Uhm… many people are currently getting about the same for their trucks on trade as they paid a few years ago. I mean I guess it would be nice if they cut me a check AND handed me the keys to a brand new Pro :D

Its a wonder the tacoma isn't in last place if CR is getting their reviews from TW.

I have a 2019. I beat the inflated covid and supply chain prices to the punch, so I suppose I’m already ahead of most 21 and 22 buyers
But all kidding aside, I doubt this consumer report will have a significant impact on Tacoma resell prices.
