Do you find the Gen3 Tacoma interior a bit small/crowded?

Tacomas aren’t meant for families. Even with 1 kid and the car seat in the middle as it should be limits luggage, other passengers comfort etc. The Sequoia is the answer in my opinion, albeit at a much higher price point, at the pump now especially

Oh nice, you found a noticeable difference between them? I haven't, we run two different car seats, all modular for reverse, forward, and a booster. We have a couple car seats threads that wouldnt mind your feedback.

If you have even one kid this is the wrong vehicle in my opinion. We do just fine with 2 adults and a 20 lb Schipperke.

I bought the 2003 Honda Pilot EX/DVD, leather in Silver while stationed at Hickam AFB, HI in summer 2002.

Had her until Oct 2018 with over 213K miles on her before a lady decided to ride the suicide lane and hit me while I was standing still waiting to make a left turn.

Fast forward to owning a 2010 Mazda CX-9 during the interim before I bought my gorgeous Midnight Black Sport and you get my story.

The Tacoma isn't built for long trips that require SUV room. The rear seats do not recline in the Tacoma like they do in any SUV. Nor do you have the luxury of 3rd row seating like our Pilot had.

These are requirements that must be taken into consideration when deciding on vehicle purchase.

Not sure how far back the seats in a Tundra recline so that may not be what you seek.

Yes. My kids are growing fast. I could use another 8-12” of rear seat room for not to distant growth spurts

Seeing the above posts about test drives reminded me of why I’m even on this forum lol.
For twenty plus years I’d owned nothing but Fords and got pretty good service out of them,775k miles between two Rangers over 22 years and 150k + and 15 years on an explorer but then came the Edge.

We had to attend an out of town funeral and the Edge’s electronics crapped out the day before we were supposed to leave. Fortunately we had Carmax’s extended warranty ( highly recommend it) and they provided us a 4Runner as a rental (free). We kept it over a week and put about 1400 miles on it. Bought one as soon as we got home and found a good one at a decent price. Absolutely love it, so much I bought a matching Tacoma that I’m pretty fond of too. Between the two of them they cover all our vehicle needs.

5 and 11 years old, no problems here… I don’t want a boat like the tundra though… also price is way way too much if you go above sr5, I’m good

Depends how long the trip is and how much crap you gotta take with. The Tacoma has been fine traveling solo but with multiple people the tundra is much more comfortable

Yes sir. Exactly why I swapped to the 4Runner. I miss my Tacoma every day but I have SOOOOO much more room. Tundra would even be better! Just don’t need the bed. I wish I had waited for the new sequoia. LOVE how it looks

We are a family of 4 and have a Sequoia for road trips. Plenty of space and reliability for long road trips through summer deserts. If you need the bed , the Tundra is very roomy inside.

How tall are you and wife?
I am no pediatrician but if you both are 6 feet plus….chances are your kids will outgrow the rear seats by 3rd grade! :)

Going through the same situation: super cramped in my Taco with wife and two small kids (in rear facing car-seats) during our last 800 mile road trip. Been eyeing the new Sequoia hybrid for a while now. My Toyota dealer has no word of an official release date/available inventory. Good luck op.
