Glove Compartment Latch ??

Glove Compartment Latch doesn't catch - I worked the latch with a flat head screwdriver and lubed it with some silicone spray but it doesn't catch when I close it no matter how how hard I slam it or push it. Any suggestions - solutions - links or reply appreciated.

 

Can't find this in the post's - wonder what I'm doing wrong.

 

the latch is part of the compartment door, don't think there's a separate part just for the latch. Best bet is to get a junkyard door.

 

Thanks for the reply - might be a solution - finding one the same color that works probably won't be easy tho.
