Have a question @AccuTune Offroad as well as anyone else who has knowledge about what I'm asking.
I'm after a shorter version of Fox 2.5 Factory Series with 14" of travel.
I have a shop that says the can take the 12" and modify it to have 14" of travel and it would be 22.43" compressed instead of 23.5".
Sounds like they get a Fox 14" shaft and outer shock tube and shorten them.
They can also use a weld on eyelet on the bottom making it another inch shorter 21.43".
    Will this work?

    Uhm... what?
-I take it you are talking about a rear shock, and this is for a custom setup with shock relocation mount or something like that? Do you have specific shock length requirements for an already built setup?

I'm currently running 14" short body 7100's and the lower shock mount is not below my axle.
When I go to the Fox 2.5's I want to minimize the lower shock mount going below my axle.
Not sure if I'm doing a custom upper mount or going with AG.
Just trying to figure out if I can modify 2.5 x 12 like I mentioned to have 14" travel.

We spec out a Fox 2.5 x 14" shock to work specifically with the ARG shock relocation kit. We have been ordering the shocks to come with a 1" shorter rod end. This is the shortest compressed length you can get out of that shock. This works great for that kit and what you have in mind. In theory, yes someone can make you custom shafts for those shocks with welded rod end.
    • Product Compressed Length: 23.5
    • Product Extended Length: 37.37
    • Product Travel: 14"
If you go King, we can get you a "short body" shock with a shorter compressed length.
    21.75" Collapsed, 35.75 Extended

Yeah , that pic was taking about 16mo ago the day after I did the shock relocate, Deaver stg 3 and the HD shackle hangers w/ the cross bar.
Looks a bit different now for sure.

Spent the day at 806 desert customs Off-road in Lubbock Texas. Outstanding team, installed and dialed in my Accutune built, valved, and custom tuned Fox 2.5 Coilovers w/DSC and eibach 700lb coils.

this completes my suspension overhaul - the truck has never handled better.

I cannot recommend enough Accutune, Alcan Springs, Archive Garage, ES suspension products to name a few.

Thank you to all on here that provided guidance, moral and immoral support.

Does anyone have an opinion on running the roost guard vs shock boots? Will be running the 2.5 PES DSC

why doesn’t the roost guard fit on the driver side? Not sure anyones explained this or has pics covering it

knowing my ocd self I’d want it to be the same on both sides…so was leaning towards boots plus they would have ample coverage from all rocks coming from any direction

will run the accutune sleeves up front and already am in line

    thanks!

I could be wrong, but pretty sure roost guard on driver side doesnt work well due to the shock being on the back side of the axle. That side is a little more protected than passenger side being in front of the axle. We've used shock boots in the past and have seemed to work well. Flexible, easy to zip tie on, covers all sides and pretty cheap.
