    Hello,

Does anyone know what UCA will allow me to run 285/75/16s on a 8 inch wide 0mm offset wheel without rubbing on the control arm only? I was looking at JBA but it seems as if my current 0mm offset wheels will rub on the control arm. I’m trying to not run wheel spacers or upgrade wheels. Thank you!

(Already have cmc mod done so I’m only worried about control arm rubbing)

16x8 0 offset 4.5bs right? Should have no rubbing on the uca. Spacers would be needed on a set of positive offset wheels like stock. Unless i’m totally mistaken on your situation you have the perfect setup to not rub on jba’s.

Do you have a lift or level on the front of your truck?

You should be fine with that setup and JBA UCA's.

I'm 17x8.5 -10 (~same backspace when you factor in width) with 285/70's and have tons of clearance with their HD's. They're super nice UCA's I would definitely recommend them.

    Note:
They also list this size as fitting - yours will fit fine:
    • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 8.5 wheel, 0mm offset (4.75" backspace)

Those should clear any UCA you choose like others said. I still recommend SPCs for adjustability.

I've been looking at UCAs as the next mod to my truck. I've got the factory TRD lift kit on my off-road. This is all new to me, so been trying to do a bit of research on different UCAs and pricepoints to try to get the most bang for my buck. Any specific reason why you went with the HD UCAs over the standard JBA UCAs? It seems like they make a good product and the standard set at $500 seems like a reasonable price.

You'll be fine with the standard set. The HD set has additional gussets around the mounting location near the shock bucket. Unless you're jumping your truck, you're not going to break the UCA. And even if you broke the UCA, you'd have many more failure points to go along with it.

Thanks for the reply! This may be a stupid question, but if I install the UCAs myself I assume it's required to have everything rebalanced somewhere so that the camber/caster is correct? I've noticed the front tires have a visible camber to them right now and I think I read elsewhere on the forum that Toyota specs put the truck in a camber with the TRD PRO lift kit since it's still the stock UCAs.

Because I wanted to be able to jump my truck lol. Not that it's even close to being setup to be a jump truck, but in the event I catch some air while hauling balls thru the desert I didn't want to have to worry about my UCA's.

Yes, whenever you make any suspension changes to the truck, you should get it aligned. If you install JBA's, you'll need to let the alignment shop know that you have aftermarket UCA's and they should not try to set the Caster to factory spec. Instead, you should have about 3° to 4° of caster.

Typically it always looks like you have some camber. I'm not sure of the exact value, but the alignment shop be able to get your camber and toe to factory specs (assuming you haven't bent any alignment components).

Any reason you want to upgrade? The stock control arms are more than capable with that lift and very reliable. Only gain you will get is shiney red arms.

Ive been trying to compile all my research and reading and it seems like if I want to run a larger tire and wheel (say 32s on a 17) that the wheel would not clear the stock UCAs.

They will still rub an aftermarket UCA. You need a wheel spacer or offset wheels.
