    It should be radically obvious to anyone who owns a firearm that prior to using it on someone, a simple question should be asked;

"Should this be a death sentence?" If you have any hesitation at all, the answer is no.

Once that round leaves the barrel, it will tell a story. You better make sure it tells the correct story, or else you're no better off than the crook you've dispatched.
This applies to all jurisdictions and legal systems on the entire globe, even in military settings you have precise rules of engagement.

Texas isn't as unique as people make it out to be. There are instances of thieves being shot and killed by people "protecting" their property all over the country. This from where I live: https://www.oregonlive.com/data/202...-death-of-christina-gomez-24-family-says.html

Yes, there are cases of property owners being charged with crimes for confronting thieves in their own homes in Cali....and many other places. There are also cases in Cali (and other States) where the property owner was considered justified in shooting someone who broke into their home. Blanket generalizing doesn't work, neither does comparing situations as these things are never black and white.

All I'm saying is property is not as valuable as human life...not for the thief and not for the "victim."

And with that I'm tipping my hat. I wish you all the best. Cheers.

If someone comes in my house, if I pull the trigger, it will be aimed such that a mortality is assured. If someone is out in my driveway trying to steal my vehicle, my aim will probably be lower, like right square in the nut sack.

I read one of these stolen truck posts where the thief cut the wire harness to access the ECU. So the box that is covering the OBD portal could be by-passed. Now we have to cover the wire harness like we do for cat theft protection. Grrrrr!!!

That really sucks. And who ever posted the lights coming on triggers the alarm that makes sense and mine are now on.
On a side note does your cameras not notify on motion? Mine would have in our house snd both the wifes and my phone and they would have not liked the 2A response.

Well here’s what happens today: there’s no truck available to match what you had if you want the same or there is but there is but the dealership is MSRP + 4-6k (here in Canada) and your insurance provider has protected themselves from being liable for “extraordinary market conditions” so you’re on the hook for it. It ain’t fun.

Insurance doesn't get you a new vehicle unless it's new. They might get you a truck without the mods and maintenance which hopefully makes your truck more valuable than it's value on paper

Hard top camper...many more to add+
We live in countries where the criminals have more rights and protection, …FBI will show 70% of crimes today comes from repeat offenders…
Prison are so over crowded..they let criminals out early to make room for new offenders( many repeats) …who were let out early…
Note it cost you and I ,the tax payer money over $30,000 - $50,000 to house one prisoner a year..they get dental, medical , food, etc …a warm place to stay..and learn from others the how two’s ,better there trades, and How to get away from laws..
Why is there a rising levels of crimes? It pays too… tax free business…no inventory shortages…very few expenses…short work days, time off any time…vacation anytime…NO dress codes…except for a mask?
Get caught? Bails today ..very inexpensive..out in no time.. and the laws are on there side…not the victims?
Never stop a person from taking your truck…your life is more valuable…!
    Aloha
