Lighting in my parking area is turrible at night.
I'll try to remember to take a front shot tomorrow morning.

I found another OEM rim and bought the 5th tire (I think Monroe had a “5th tire free” deal). Allows me to do 5 tire rotations and hopefully longer tread life.

Nice, both these trucks look really good! I think this is finally the compare I've been looking for. Am I crazy that the Maxx look wider?

I agree that in those shots the MAXX does look wider.
Could be perspective, could be that they are an inch deep in the snow, could be that they are actually wider.
I don't have a set of MAXX to compare with in person, but comparing those 2 shots, they also look wider to me.

Just went through the same thought process myself, tough decision. On the road right now, but went out and took a quick shot of my choice (less than 100 mi on them)…just another angle.

Edit: these are on OR wheels, no spacers.

Looks like different wheel offsets. The Max offset gives the truck a wider stance so the tires look wider.

Yea that’s true wheel specs will change the look. These are 16x8 0 offset.

It's a great point. Mine are 16x7 +25 (stock wheels).

I believe the reason the MAXX's look wider is because the tire tread extends over to the sidewall lugs. So they give a fuller look overall. The Yokohama's have a straight tire tread with no side lug connection, so there is a gap which gives the tires a much slimmer appearance.

Yokohamas are fantastic tires and seem to run well on Tacos. Lots of R&D in the company. Lots of race involvement applications as well. Plus their tires are usually on the lighter side due to the tire tech

How do the Yokos ride? I have 255 M55 and the ride is pretty damn stiff.

At this point I've probably driven a little less than 100 miles on them. I don't really have enough data to provide useful information.

    That said.
They are WAY louder than the GY Wrangler Kevlars (stock tires, not unexpected). I've also found them a bit more "vague" than the Wrangler Kevlars at highway speeds.
At crazy low speeds I feel like I can feel each tread block "touching". Once I get above something like 10MPH everything smooths out, but at "driveway speeds" they are very "feely".
I'm currently running them at ~35 PSI, which is probably too high, but you don't know until you try something.

Even at this pressure and don't find them stiff at all. I'll also admit to liking a bit of a "trucky ride" on things. There have been a couple of times where I've certainly found them a bit more "rolly" (like pushing through corners) than the stock tires (which makes complete sense based on the higher aspect ratio) while driving on the street.

I've only been on the asphalt since purchasing these. Hopefully this weekend I can get out to a couple local trails to get some feel for how they do in the dirt.

I wouldn't consider my experience so far any sort of real "review". Extraordinarily small sample size.

I appreciate the info. Please let me know how they do pounding through potholed dirt roads. Cheers.

    E-load?

    try 32 psi. Big difference

The stock Wrangler tires are basically a simple basic tread tire (also supposedly not the same quality you buy at a tire dealer)… so it’s not surprising you feel the MT tread much more (as you stated). The Kevlar is a gimmick. I punctured mine 2x and have never done that on any other tire

Reached an official 40k miles in 1 year on the Kenda Rts! Still need to get a tread depth gauge to see how much tread they actually have left. Still pretty good tread for the abuse/bonking the alignment out of wack a couple times and driving on it.

40k in a year? Goddamn! I put my Coopers on a year ago tomorrow, and I'm just now hitting about 12k on them.

Yup! Moab, Jonhson Valley Ca, Montana, down to Oregon a handful of times, and up to the ski resorts all winter. Live in Seattle area, so lots of big trips!

    Ya, Es.
From just rolling around the driveway, and what little driving I've done they certainly seem a bit "tall" in the center right now. Not much scuff / dirt collecting near the edges.
The stock kevlars I found to be turrible in the dirt. Not that turrible in the snow (which was surprising).
I'm keeping them around as my winters until I replace them with some dedicated snows and will run the Yoke's in the "summer".
