Honestly since it's a condo there isn't much I'd be doing that would ever use more than 1 or 2 plugs. Air compressor, shop vac, trickle charger, etc. For 16 months now I've made do with a single outlet extension cord. The quantity of outlets is more about convenience, not simultaneous use.

I'd love to but since it's a condo I'm limited by the main panel, which is only 100amp service. Upgrading it would help with my quest for a couple more circuits, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort when I can just throw a couple tandems in there & avoid a couple thousand $ upgrade & associated permits that have to get pulled.

While I absolutely agree with this, consider - if he is a one-man shop, he will most likely be using 1 tool at a time. The multiple receptacles just allows him to not have to plug and unplug tools all the time

Is that because its a Sylvania Zinsco style which allows more amperage than rated, also allows for bridging between breakers and often fail and cause house fires?

You can put a bigger 100 amp panel in. Square D makes a 30/60. That's actually what I'm putting in mine. The breakers in yours looks sketchy as is...

Okay I got a new (thin) riser all scribed and mocked up. The bottom scribe took me more attempts than I want to admit in order to close gaps underneath. I bought a whopping $50 scribe tool to get it right  The brown mark is where I had to splice two pieces together. I had to Drydex and sand it flush. It’ll be invisible when I paint it.

It’s about ready for some scuff-x and then final mounting. Question is, how OCD do I want to go with getting it flush with the subfloor? I used a block plane to get to the scribe line on the bottom. Up top I guess I could block plane the both of these flush to each other, but it would take a lot more work I think. Maybe there’s a router bit that’s better for this? You can see the chatter where I tried to block plane a few strokes. Didn’t necessarily make the nicest cut then I chickened out.

As long as the subfloor is smooth, a flush trim bit should work on top of the riser.

Ah yeah I can probably do that. I’d have to hold the router at a perfect 90° to the floor though and mine is a 2.5 HP heavy chunk of metal. Maybe just use a sander? I could take some 80 or 120 and slowly take material away until it’s smooth and flush. The riser is just MDF.

Yea, I didn’t see the drawing just went off your quote so thought he was right at 10. Missed the other outlets. So for sure he’s not in code.

Just wondering. Can you put a stone strip, like marble on the edge?

Stone resist wear better than wood.

Furring strips are up and got the new layout for the bathrooms and closet roughed in. Next up roughing in electrical.

They had a weird layout up there. Closet was too big, two bathrooms with a pocket door haha. Somebody thought putting a sink in front of a window and on top of a vent was a good idea, too. It’ll be more appropriately sized and laid out/separated for kids rooms.
