that looks fine to me. Im gonna assume that the clear has fasing on the roof and maybe the hood. If not clay bar it and a good compound and buff will do the trick. Save your money. Truck looks good

I like the raptor lining look as well. I used to live in Williamsport. I miss it but those winters were brutal for me. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Let me know if you have any questions. The job wasn’t that complicated, just a lot of prep work.

If anyone is still reading this thread, I'm thinking maybe I should have included the option of wrapping the vehicle in vinyl. I'm told its cheaper than painting but only last a couple years. I can look pretty good, completely reversible, and could allow some creativity with design. Hmmmm....

Im following because i saw you are in Williamsport and i lived there. Im feeling like driving up just to get some Eders ice cream and Long Island Pizza.

i got a quote for vinyl wrap for my 02 before covid and it was 1600 for a basic wrap. For that much i feel like i could put that towards repaint or bedliner which is permanent. Just my 2 cents but its a good solution if you aren’t sure which way to go

That’s always an option. There’s a lot of variation in quality of vinyl wrap, also labor is usually pretty high. That being said it can be a fun diy project

For comparison I spent about $600 total for my bedliner and the materials I needed to do it myself. Still have a good amount of extra left over, and it would have been a $100 or so less if I didn’t choose that particular red

This is what you can't see from the 20 footer picture I posted earlier. From a distance is doesn't look too bad, but this is what I see every day.

i think vinyl wrap is a waste of money
the rear window cab area definitely needs to be brought down to metal to get reid of that rust. I think paint is the best option or i guess raptor lining but not vinyl wrap. Thats just gonna created more moister underneath there and cause more rust.

Non metalic . I would go for a good single stage paint job .

agree single stage if non metallic but shooting single stage can be tricky still. If you have never painted before single or 2 stage be ready to have a lot of runs in the paint. If you do go this route you might want to practice spraying on a panel to get the hang of it. Single stage will definitely be cheaper compare to base/clear coat

Years ago, I painted my ‘69 Dodge Dart GT convertible with half a dozen rattle cans of B5 blue from Anal Zone and it turned out sweet. I have no pictures of it; I finished painting it… pulled it out of the garage and within 10 minutes a Dude stopped and said he had to buy the car. He came back 10 minutes later and that was that. OP, you can do this

I rattle canned a fender and it looked great until I clear coated it, that was the part I f'ked up on. Like someone said earlier it's all in the prep and finish. If I were going to do a whole truck though I'd probably get a legit paint gun at least.
