To start I have read through every single thread related to this topic and my truck still won’t start

i disconnected my positive end of my battery to install some over priced headlights. Reconnected it after and truck cranks but won’t start

checked to make sure both ends of the terminals are very tight

    tried jump starting it

tried unlocking and locking with my key fob and with the key in the door

tried putting the key in the off then run position 5 times then start

all electronics come on when key is in the accessory position

    tried cleaning battery terminals

Feel like it’s time to hit up the pros on this forum. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

Does it try to start at all?
Is your security light flashing with the key on?

It’s cranking but that’s about it. That light is flashing but when I put the key into the ignition it goes away

Try a different key. I tried a duplicate key and the fuel immobilizer didn't allow it to start in one of my trucks a few years ago. Maybe the battery is dead in your key fob. Just a thought.

The fob I have is locking and unlocking the truck no problem. I haven’t seen my second set of keys in awhile but maybe I’ll try and track them down

If it cranks then your entire barebones "starting" system is good. Security maybe...

All the usual lights come on when you first put the key in then they all go away so no check engine light

The security light going off when the key is inserted tells me the immobilizer is recognizing the key so it's likely not a security issue.
The check engine light should come on and stay on with the key on until you start cranking the engine.

I'm also curious what was involved in installing the lights, were they just bolt in or was there wiring involved or any messing around in the fuse box?

Plug and play however I did have to run and ad a fuse to the ign fuse in the cabin fuse box. Also had to ad a positive and negative wire to the battery.

thats probably the problem. I've heard of some people having issues after tapping into the ING fuse on 3rd gens. I would recommend removing the piggyback (add-a-fuse) fuse and try starting it again. 3rd gens have two different IGN fuses I think, im not 100% about the 2nd gens though
