What I will say is that I fully acknowledge that most of these are hit or miss. Tons of people report having great success with no hiccups for years.

At the same time I gathered opinions from people that have actually worked on these like Miguel.

With that said, we are going to keep a second fridge in the garage.

I'll be looking for a home warranty to cover items like this fridge as I don't trust extended service contracts offered by most big box stores.

I don't like IoT devices personally so they're off my radar (connected coffee maker, fuck off ) but when I got my last fridge I saw a lot of them, oof! Could get a couple shitboxes.

 

I'll go to a used appliance yard and buy an 80s classic fridge that's still choochin along before any modern appliance lol

My folks got fancy front loaders when they upgraded and ended up swapping them out for old school style USA made Speed Queens, basically simple commercial style units, and they're so good. Wouldn't get anything else. Knobs and dials versus touch panels, no lid lock, etc. Good stuff.
