It has built in memory and has an sd card slot as well as a sim card slot if you don't want to use your phone as a Hotspot and is cheaper than toyota wifi. As far as plugging in behind the dash, I haven't tried so idk if the has unit has a USB port on the rear but maybe. I just used double sided tape to mount it in top of that cubby underneath where the USB ports are and used the short USB cable so it's hidden pretty well

Received my Clazzios today. Suppose I will begin the task of installing them if the weather plays nice this weekend.

Read the instructions and watched a few install videos. Anything else I should know - other than brushing up on my cuss words?

Funny you should ask. Two post, 7 2x4's, 20 dog ears and 2 bags of cement over $157. A guy from work added 14 dog ears to the stack for free that he wasn't going to use. Said I owe him a beer. The 2x4's actually came down in price from the one's I bought 2 weeks ago. Went from $9.98 to $6.98 each. Made 3 trips for wood to do some fence repair and so far have spent about $350. Prices are crazy.

Installed Ford tow hooks to the rear of the Tacoma. These are from my 2003 F-150 FX4 that was wrecked years ago. I saved them and saw RobMotive do this. I had the powder coated Performance Red.

I get in the truck and it auto connects to my phone so I don’t have to plug in my phone every time. It’s for stock head units.

I modified a 2X10 board to function as a cargo barrier. My old GMC bed liner has vertical slots that a board drops right in, the horizontal locations in the taco bed require extra pieces to locate the board - but if you swap ends, you have a two position barrier…. I also hung the “pretty” summer tires. They are close on weight, the ride and noise are at least as good as the stockers. Still have some plans for more changes, but this is all I have collected over the year between “ordering” & receiving something close. The air leak sounding exhaust will be the first new pieces to be swapped in.

installing the seat backs I turned the cover completely inside out and started with the headrest buttons and then put your hands inside and work it down. That way it’s nice and tight from the top down. Also the front head rest are hard. At least mine were hard to install. Also don’t pull too tight on the straps for the seat bottoms. I pulled the drivers side too hard and ripped it off. I was able to sew it back on and I think it’s stronger now. I also put them in the dryer for a few min to get them warm as I live in WA state and the sun is not out until July. Lol

Damn Matt. You have really been adding to the new truck for the few days you've had it. Must have been stockpiling parts for a while. Looking good. Love the pooch.

I haven't even tried it yet since there's no reason to link my phone when the ai box basically turns the head unit into an android tablet. It let's you watch Netflix, download apps, etc. If you only care about carplay it's probably not for you, but if you want to upgrade your head unit to do anything it is for you
