Its a tent/shell in one. You can access the sleeping platform from the inside but I choose to use a ladder. New ones start at $7700. You can usually find them used with relative ease also.

Pros: Its light and insanely fast to setup/teardown camp. It has tons of room underneath to continue doing truck shit when you arent camping. Its more sleek than putting a roof tent on a normal shell but has as much, if not more room inside.

Cons: Expensive, definitely adds to wind noise/movement at highway speeds (itll still cruise at 90mph though) also gets worse fuel mileage but that would happen with any rtt. On the V1 the tent material snaps into place and allows for air/bugs to get into the camper. Ive never had a big issue with this but its a sticking point for a lot of people. Mattress is not super comfortable and there isnt a ton of room to go thicker. Im about to try adding a 1" silicone mattress topper to try on my next trip.

OVS Nomadic 270. The full size one, not the LT. It has HUGE coverage, doesnt require uprights and is super fast to setup/teardown. IMHO its the best awning that exists.

Hey all! Got out for some stealth fly fishing up in Northern California. I went during the week and had the whole river valley to myself.

Still need to order suspension and tires, but she's coming together!

no he was right,, I accidently posted a photo of my 2nd gen in this thread for 3rd gens..

however I found a few more of my 3rd gen at a few campsites along the COBDR in Colorado.

First day in northern Colorado was a bit cold and there were no bears that showed up to pet

This campsite #13.. was an indication of my unlucky day

Anyone notice the front end? It wasn't my lucky day.. but I figured out how to continue on with a winch strap and black duct tape...

Have a bunch more pics but these were exact spots I spent nights in the back sleeping in the shell that I actually took pics of... Most of the time I was on the road at sun up and stopping usually at sun down..

    dirty.1.jpg

Don't do a lot of camping in my truck because most of the time I'm camping off my Husky FE501

    Somewhere in Idaho

Oops... i thought this was just a camping photo thread. Not gen specific. O well. Camping pics is what matters! Cause yeah, obviously I'm running a 2nd gen too.

Great picture, impressive back scenery, but... Where is the truck?
    Did I miss something?

Haha it’s behind the camera. I just posted this in response to @Atl-atl because I thought it was the same location as his photo
