I will get some pics up, promise.

Nice report on the Predator step. I think it looks sharp. My wife had a stroke a year ago and I need to make it easier (safer) for her to get in and out.

I'll keep my eyes open for a online deal. The install looks easy.

Depending on how the Tacoma market is near you things like running boards are constantly on Craigslist. I picked up the textured cast aluminum steps for $60 off Craigslist. I usually see brand new predator steps taken off for $250ish. So it might be worth it to check out your local Craigslist.

    That is an excellent idea.
I will give it a look. I've got a few things I need to list that I removed from my trade as well....

Lots of great posts on looking for big problems. Don’t forget the little things. Make sure you get the bed cleats, correct numbers of keys and Owners manual. Mine was missing bed cleats, so the salesman grabbed 4 out of another Tacoma. Kicking the can down the road I guess.

Found the bed cleats under the back seat, drivers side in the cubby. Nice little feature that I was not aware of. Both keys, including the metal tag with the key number on it. Owners manuals in hand.

This brings up the question, when folding up the rear seats and laying down the back, where does one store the headrests? Likely this is in the manuals, but alas.... I am lazy and figured I might ask...

I know a lot of people here talk down the nav on this truck, but honestly I have the dynamic nav also and it's been great IHMO. Yea, it's a subscription service after the trial period is up but it's either the subscription or buy updates. I'm not wild about having to tether a phone to use CarPlay so I can have nav. I bet you will like the dynamic nav also.

Best of luck with the new wheels and welcome! :)

if you look on the rear seats you folded up you will see holes where you can insert the headrest. It isn’t ideal but works. If I’m on a camping trip and I know I won’t have more than one passenger I just leave them at home. Nice looking Tacoma. Really like the interior seat color!

Yeah the lock I mentioned works with the key fob. Predator steps attach to the cab so if it gets hit by anything your gonna have a bad time. Sliders really are for if you off road and wanna keep rocks from spraying up onto the cab and if you hit a boulder it should help you go around it instead of crumple. So yeah usage dependent for sure

Nice, I see how that could be a nice feature. I've got a side by side that is set up with lockers and sliders so I understand what your saying. This truck will see nothing much offroad short of some possible runs in the sand and well travelled forest service roads. But I understand what your saying.

I really just need something that my wife can step on, both getting in and out, and not to have to step over on the way out. That was one thing I noticed with some of the tube styles that were on a couple of CPO trucks I looked at. It was as though they were too high and got in the way getting out.

I'm still in research mode... (shit less than 12 hours ago at the beginning of this thread I said I was going to keep it stock).... we all knew that wasnt going to happen.
