Lol, I wonder if it’s to weed out the tire kickers. Like if you call me 5 times or text me 5 times I’ll pick up because I know your serious. Then meh if you give up after one call I don’t want your business anyways because your probably a whiner or an ask hole.

I wouldn't doubt it tbh. It'd be a solid method to weed em out.

Only concern then, would be that you might end up with customers who would pester you incessantly about stuff...but now I think of it it would probably still weed them out, because he'd see like 20 texts from someone within a few days and know right off the bat lol.

I think the real problem is production is limited and it's tough to find quality welders who are excited about the work without a piece of the action. It seems he has zero trouble selling whatever he can produce. Hence there's limited incentive to try to receive new orders and the focus has to be on trying to keep production going.

Imagine if you were a business with 100 orders already placed and 8-12 week lead time. Would collecting additional orders be your priority? I'm not saying that's the number but there's definitely some number at which point you would fear returning a call because then you might be on the hook for 101 orders and no closer to fulfilling them.

Or create a family and just keep taking deposits and stretching lead times while your living a lavish lifestyle spending money like it’s not yours then file bankruptcy and disappear off the face of the earth. :anonymous:

This is extremely accurate. Even with all that being said, I love my rear bumper, didn't over pay, got exactly what I wanted in the time frame I was told. Billy's quality is top notch. He builds his stuff to be beat/smashed on much like @WarFab Armor. I have a short list of companies I trust, but Brute Force, Warfab and BAMF are on it.

For those of y’all with swing outs. Did my powder coater go to high? I can’t freely slide the bearing on. If so any tips to get the powder coat offB51AC681-CB31-4B7E-916E-7C807350A48C.jpg

Yes! Even if you could get the bearing on it would eat up the seal.
Such a bummer for you, sorry man.
The back side is going to be a real bitch to clean up. Maybe get with your powder guy and see what they recommend for removing. It should be smooth as a baby’s bottom. Good luck.

edit: I called the powder coater, he said to use “airplane stripper from lowes” paint stripper. Gotta take the bumper off

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I'd try some long strips of sandpaper wrapping around the spindle before I'd go the paint stripper route. You can start around 500 grit and go down if it's not working. Afterwards go up to get the desired finish needed.

I thought about doing that. I could leave the bumper on if I sand it. But I don’t want to scratch up the metal by accident

Yes there. Put some painters tape wherever you think your going to rub. It’s way over built so as long as it’s clean where the seal goes and the berings drop in your golden. Don’t over think it. It’s not like it’s really doing anything like a wheel bearing. You might want to pick up a tap to clean the threaded holes if there is PC in them. I would be more worried about trying to work in a bolt and snapping it then that spindle.

My buddy just quit working for him. Supposedly he withheld $ from his paycheck and the welding conditions werent that great.

I still think Billy's bumpers are some of the best deals out there, and dont hesitate recommending them to friends who ask me. Ive had my bumper for a solid 5+ years and Ive had no issues with anything. (sorry for the pics. No service at work)

I can’t for the life of me figure out how this latch bolts on and latches. Every combo hits and won’t latch. It’s like it has to me completely flush? What’s the trickA327FC90-7A11-4662-BC76-9835BD0DEB0D.jpg

I got my brute force HC bumper for my 2nd gen and I’m trying to install the license plate lights. The lights have this plastic clip that slides around the metal of the OEM bumper on one side and a screw on the other. The problem I’m running into is the BF bumper metal is much thicker and the gap in the tab is way too small. For those with 2nd gens what did you guys do? Cut the tab? Grind metal off the bumper?
