    Hey guys,

My son and his grandfather just installed 5100s all around with an AAl in the rear. This was their first install and things went awry. I'm offshore and it's proven difficult to help troubleshoot from here so I figured I'd ask for help so my son isn't driving around with a poor suspension setup.

They apparently have the lift setup at the 1" height WITH a 1/2 spacer, plus the 1/4 driver side shim. The driver side ebach coil is hitting the UCA and the shop told them that an alignment was not possible.

1"+1/2"+1/4"= 1-3/4 inch and even less on the passenger. I didn't expect them to have any issues if they stayed under the 2.5" mark so I am confused. Stock UCAs

Anyone have this issue or have any ideas. It's been driving me crazy because I can't look at the truck firsthand for a couple more weeks.

    Thanks in advance.

    Spacers usually double the lift.
So a 3/4” spacer is equal to 1.5”.

Take the 3/4” spacer out and use the spring perch setting to get the lift you want.

The 5100’s are adjustable up to 2.75”
It depends on where you place the c-coup for the lower spring perch.
I believe the instructions will tell you where to place the clip for different lifts.

The biggest problem is, it’s not really easy disassemble and reassemble. You can do it at home. But it is sketchy. I hate those cheap spring compressor you can rent at auto stores. They are almost dangerous.

I remember the first time I used those I shot a spring and top hat across my parents garage trying to lower my first car and missed my head by only a few inches.

I concur. Use the spring perch for the lift and add the 1/4" spacer on the drivers side to help with the Taco Lean. No spacers on the passenger side.
