2020 offroad with tech package no remote start

So I tried installing the Toyota app and using remote connect but I get a message saying I dont have remote connect

My truck is a 2020 trd offroad with tech package

 

Not a stick shift, right? Only autos have it.
Try doing it with the fob first to make sure you really do or do not have it.
Quickly press the lock button the first two times, and then while holding the button for about three seconds for the third time the lights will blink and then it will start.
I think another way to check is if you have the SOS button, no button, then I think no app starting.

 

I have auto and I've done the fob sequence. Also I do have sos button. Weird.

Any other suggestions?

 

Tech package doesn't include the remote connect / start feature.

 

Same thing for me with 2020 Sport w/ Tech. Had to buy aftermarket remote start.
Would recommend this from Amazon. It has one t-harness plug on the passenger side. 15 minute install.

If you have the SOS button you have remote connect and therefore remote start.
However the trial period is only one year when factory new, and I don’t know if you have ever had the trial. In order for any of the remote connect features to work they would have to be registered and setup first. Are you the original owner and if so did you(or the dealer) setup the remote connect?
If so, your remote start will still work from the keyfob only. Its incredibly finicky and you must get the sequence dead on for it to start. Most people give up and say they dont have it, but after reading posts here they come back and say they got it to work .

Sequence:
Press lock firmly 2x
Press and hold lock 3rd time until you see park lites flash. Release lock button.

I have remote start and sometimes it even takes me 4-5 tries to get it from the keyfob. Its really frustrating, but it will work.

 

Being that it kills the car when you open the door I don’t even use my remote start. That’s one thing I wish Toyota would address it was a nice feature on my Ctsv.

 

Safety Connect (SOS button) is standard on all trims of 2020+, even the base SR. Remote Connect (remote start via app or fob) is only included if you have premium audio - included in the premium audio package, or included with the premium trim package.

 

Cant argue with that. I misunderstood with another post I was in and assumed premium audio. Trust but verify as they say. Thanks for the correction.

 

I'm taking possession of a 22 OR and it doesn't come with any Tech Pkg or Premium audio, but it does says Remote Connect.

I guess I will find out if it has remote start when I go pick it up in a few days.

 

I get the flash but truck doesnt turn on. I'll try when I go to drive either today

 

I think this might be the case. No remote start for me

 

Sorry bud. You can also verify by checking your vin on the toyota.com site . It will list your installed factory options inc remote connect.
