    Still figuring it out…
So I took the ol’ gal to my mechanic yesterday and had the left front wheel bearing replaced hoping this would take care of the vibration, well that wasn’t the case so now I’m gonna order the ecgs bushing and have that done. It has a 1” spacer up front and has 7 leaves in the rear total so I’m guessing a 2” lift in the rear. I want to know where is the best place to order the parts and tools I’m guessing ecgs website which everything will be $172. Anyone know where to get cheaper? I also want to get bilstein 5100 shocks and take out the spacer and use the stock springs. Would this be alright?? It has stock tires on it now 265/65r17 but needs changed soon should I stick with stock or go 265/70? With either size tire sizes and the lift it has should I also be doing a carrier bearing or shim drop as well? Sorry about the all the questions jumbled around at once but I would like some help on this since I’m new to the Tacoma world. Thanks

You can purchase whatever, whenever. Its the posting in the B/S/T forums that is limited until you get to 50 posts iirc

Are you sure it’s not a driveshaft vibration?
Does it go away in 4WD?

I’m not knocking the Ad in the link above.
It’s actually a good deal since you get a whole assortment SET of race and seal drivers.
But the actual install tool from ECGS seats the bushing and seal to the correct depth. Yeah, it’s pretty much a “single” service tool. But it takes the guess work out of it.

Either way, here is a tip.
Both need to seat flush. Don’t drive them in any further than flush.

Again, not saying don’t buy the tool in the link. It’s a good deal.

Ya it goes away when I engage 4wd and thanks I was wondering why that tool didn’t have the plastic looking end that the bushing goes into. Thanks for that I just Pm’ed him, if the price is good I’ll get it if not I’ll get one from website and after I’m done I’ll give it to someone else to pass along like I saw on here before

Mechanic did say the carrier bearing will need replaced soon would that cause the vibration? I plan on him doing both next week anyways. I hate it at 40 mph it has a slight vibration/rumble strip noise to it

If it went away in 4WD then it’s likely NOT the carrier.
But you still need to get it looked at sooner than later.

Definitely goes away in 4wd. Got it March 31st and didn’t notice it till second day or so of having it, I mostly drive 40mph here to work only 2.5 miles away. I don’t notice the sound at any other speeds, I took it up the road doing 60 and nothing. You think I’ll be fine to drive for a week and a half with this issue or should I walk my ass in? Or drive it in 4wd? I did the one day to keep it lubricated

If it were my truck, I’d drive it to work.
    I’m not walking. Lol

    I think you’ll be fine.

I was thinking the same after I wrote that, I’m not walking plus I have a 3 month warranty, sad thing is, it’s over 2 hours away at dealership but if it explodes I’ll take it to them to work on it lol

I feel like a lot of stuff can cause vibes on these trucks. Mine hasn't had any yet though there's been plenty of other issues.
Regardless it's still never a bad idea on any car to change front wheel bearings at 100k. Sometimes they're a weaker design than the rear. Other times front and rear is just as weak/the same
