Yeah, I'm probably gonna _need_ that too....

Any advice on where to get some reasonable discounts of OEM parts?

    I bought mine here:

    https://parts.prestigetoyota-ny.com/p/69551146/PTR5735170.html

A little on the expensive side considering I found one on Amazon for $40. But I want OEM stuff...I'm hardcore like that! lol (Just kidding)

I've established a good friendship with the parts guy, Lou. I bought my TRD Skid from his location too!

Appreciate the link. I had come across a less expensive one on Amazon last night. I wasn't convinced that it was OEM however and this morning I cannot find it. The skid plate looks nice too....

It's only money right... (losing value as we speak...) might as well spend it while I can..

I look at it this way, "If it makes you happy" and "you can afford it", why not? I'll caveat that with a side of wife's constant bickering, "do you really need that?" Meanwhile, I just bought a Roomba for $599.

It's an individual choice regardless of opinions.

I got the skid for $306 shipped. Lou was very helpful after I received confirmation. He replied to my emails and is very personable. I know he owns a 2021 Tundra and has done some fantastic upgrades!

Silver with red interior looks great!!!

When you hit 40k miles , a nice set of beefy tires will look great on those oem wheels.

So far, the stock tires were the one thing I was a bit underwhelmed with. They ride nice enough, and are quiet.... but they are not what I consider proper truck tires. I haven't put any effort into researching options yet, but my inclination is to swap them out in the near future. I really like the bronze wheels that were available on the Trail package so I might put some feelers out on a set of those as well. I see that you can't build a silver rig with that package however so someone at Toyota must think the color combo doesn't work.

I need to find a tire thread to see what I can put on without rubbing issues.

I played around a bit with the dynamic nav a bit yesterday and found it to be pretty good. I'm a android guy and have only messed with android auto a bit in our Exploder. My biggest dislike is that it needs to be cabled, the media port is a bitch to get to, and the other two drivers use apple so we constantly fight over the cables. Further if I'm plugged in on android, and the kid plugs in the iphone it confuses the exploder to no end... So I usually just use Waze or Google Maps..

The biggest advance in factory navigation that is apparent to me, is dynamic map updates and that alone will make me a fan. I have not had the opportunity to get out in the woods where I know my cell phone maps will not work but I will enjoy seeing what the factory nav can do in those situations.
