    But the problem is there is NOTHING to buy. If I sell it I won’t find another Tacoma. Any dealer near me has nothing coming in unsold. The soonest I could get anything is 6months for an off-road. Toyota isn’t building anything that has blind spot. I had a Pro 6MT cancelled on me and a 6MT sport. The dealer that had my deposit for those two trucks called me yesterday and said come in for your deposit back. We can’t get you a truck.

    I may have to go get a Subaru Outback wilderness in the mean time. A buddy of mine is the GM for the 2 Subaru dealers in town and said he has one left coming in 3-4 days. After that nothing for 5 months. But even though I grew up with him and have probably bought 50-60 cars from him over the years ( I’d buy trade ins and drive them and re sell) there are no more deals. MSRP or nothing.

    We had a good talk about the car business and it doesn’t look good for the consumer. Manufacturers are making more money than before even though production is down. His family used to own the VW dealership in town and he still has all his contacts. In 2018 VW spent on average 5k per vehicle sold on advertising, monthly incentives, reduced interests rates all to move inventory. In 2021 they spent 0. So VW made 5k more per vehicle sold. They are all the same.

    No more Ford employee pricing or year end discounts.

    Even Toyota Red Tag days is a joke now. They raised the finance rate to 6%.

    Personally I think the production of 22 Tacoma’s is slowing down because of shortages and they will release the 23’s early and raise prices..

    If I can make 5k and get the outback I might be crazy not to do it. I do love the Tacoma but can get buy without a truck for awhile. Plus the finance rate on the Subaru with loyalty because we have one already is .9%. My Tacoma is at 6% that alone is a big savings over the term of the note.
