    Hi TW

When I go out on long road-trips, I pretty much live in my truck. Things can get a bit messy. This means that I'm already starting to get dust, coffee stains and such on my OEM seats. Trying to put some seat covers on the seats so I can take them off and wash them in the laundry rather than try to use the upholstery cleaner foam products. I think the features I'm looking for:

    1. Resistant to water / liquid spills: does not let them through to get to the actual seat
    2. Easy to either clean in-place; or to remove and wash in the machine
    3. Won't require a lot of regular maintenance
    4. Won't burn a hole through my wallet

I'd prefer not to get real leather both due to its price and maintenance needs. Wondering if anyone knows of a seat cover that will fit my needs.

    Thanks!

    What is your budget?
Maintenance isn’t really a reason to not get leather, but I understand the budget concern. I have leather Recaros in a 2016 Focus ST and have never put anything on them besides water to wipe the seats (damp towel wipe down). They still look brand new.

Clazzios look really good and high quality in the Tacoma. They have PVC if you don’t want leather inserts. Not sure if that’s more than you want to spend though.

I was hoping for $300 for both front seats (I don't need them for the back), and a cursory look at the prices online tells me I'm dreaming. So I guess the revised budget is $500 :spending:.

I really like my Wet Okole's, I found the front set used for $90 which works great as i have my 1 piece dog cover in the back. They are made of a materiel similar to a wet suit very easy too clean, water proof and fit like an oem seat skin i am very pleased with them. If you stay vigilant i'm sure a used set will pop up.

I could possibly do the PVCs. They're a bit more than what I'd want to pay, but they're not out of question. I found some other materials here -- https://vertexoffroad.com/collections/toyota-tacoma
Not sure what material best fits my bill -- neoprene, cordura, synthetic leather, canvas, PVC, real leather -- all Greek and Latin to me.

I'm all for saving a buck and buying used, but I draw the line at clothes and seat covers :puke:

To answer OP's question, check out the Rough Country neoprenes. I like em

I'm one of the guys from that thread who have the Rough Country seat covers. They are great. I have even installed heated seat elements in them and use them almost daily.

Overall for the price I am very happy. They take awhile to get them if they are out of stock. Although I think someone just posted in that thread they are selling their set.

(The strap over the driver headrest is a first-aid kit, not part of the seat covers)

Agree with this. Only downside I've experienced in hot muggy weather, they end up getting soaked in sweat, worse than cloth seats and leather imo. But they are easy to remove and wash.

I put mine on in winter, so I haven't experienced summer heat yet, but I've seen a few comments about neoprene being pretty warm in the summer.

I got mine because kids have zero regard for cloth interior and wanted something waterproof. They fit the bill great.

I ended up ordering the Rough Country ones off of Amazon. At $120 they seem to strike the balance between crap and premium and it's good to hear that several forum members are pleased with them. I'm not picky about how my seat feels, just want to make sure I don't mess up the OEM seats.

I just got my truck, I get filthy at work so I picked up the Rough Country covers for the front seats. Seems nice enough, doesn't like the controls for the power seat but I'll be the only one driving so once set it won't matter. Glad to see people like them.

Same. They have held up perfectly for the past two years.

plus you can throw them in the wash when you want to clean them.

I went with the carhartt mossy oak seat covers, super easy to install and remove if needing cleaning. Idk, about other brands but the coverkings we did on a buddies trd were a pita till removing the seats. Both of us had hamburger hands.
