I just recently installed some turn signal mirrors on my truck after making the discovery that it had the existing wiring for it. After doing so and realizing how cool they looked, it dawned on me that it would be pretty neat if there was a way to keep them on all the time with the DRL, while still functioning as a turn signal when necessary. I know it's been done on the third gens, but has anyone done this on the second gen? I would be interested in knowing. Thanks.

Bump because I'm curious, won't bump again if this gets no response. I'm beginning to think no one has done this which is fine. I may investigate some of the wiring myself.

You’d probably have to tap into the front DTRL.
I haven’t looked at the diagram close enough to see where the best place would be.
I looks like the wires come in and go out down at the body ECU. You’d then need to see where the wire come out of the door for the mirrors, and tap into the DTRL, or run them on a relay to be “safe”.

Anyway, I didn’t look into it too much. But from what I see, it could be done.
It’s more or less, whether it’s worth the time?

The ultimate question is always whether its worth the time. My response is why not! Some days I get bored and just let wonder about things that can be done that I think would be neat, and was wondering if anyone had done this but I think you may be right!

I had seen it done on third gens, but didn't know if anyone had attempted it! I'm gonna get some wiring diagrams and take a peak.

I haven’t seen anyone do it on a 2nd Gen.
    But I can’t say I would remember.
I tend to forget about things that don’t really pertain to my truck.
    I don’t have that DTRL.

If you feel comfortable adding the option. Go for it.
Let us know how it turns out. Always cool to someone “make it work”.
