Cole threw something the other day and it landed on the building roof. Made him go get it

They say they are, that's not their first time on the ladder but it is his first time on the roof.

I heard somewhere recently that we are born with the fear of loud noises and the fear of falling, and all other fears are learned or taught.

I can see that. There are a lot of things taught to us from a young age, good and bad.

    Hi all. Good Monday morning.
Had nice Easter dinner at mom in laws yesterday, and nice visiting some of her family from Kansas that came up.
I'm so ready for the weather to get better here. Light snow flurries yesterday.

I text my mom yesterday morning, she text me and my wife both back. Went to church with the wife and kids, we went and ate lunch at the local Mexican place then played outside and smoked the ham for supper. My father in law called my wife about 6:45 pm to say Happy Easter on speaker with my mil saying something. I was washing dishes and didn't even say hey :anonymous:

Saw my brother drive by Saturday, didn't even look our way. Whatever.

    New poll!

The older I get the less I like heights, but not scared of them.

If it's sturdy and not shaky I'm good. Tree stands, I'm good. Fire towers that sway with a little wind, I'm out.

I'm not afraid of heights , but working on a ladder a few hours takes a toll on my legs.

Tree stands don't bother me as long as they aren't over 20', a friend who's a fireman ask me to go bow hunt with him once. He sent me to one of his loc-ons, it had to be 30' in the air

We had a ladder truck at the FD, I went to the top of it one night for training. It was either 90' or 120' I can't remember. It didn't bother me. Steep roofs, no thanks!

So my wife's Uncle in his upper 70's. Said he goes to the local coffee shop every morning and said there's a bunch who meet there. I ask if they sit around and gossip, he laugh and said oh yeah...talk about everyone and everything, I then ask probably give each other a hard time and ribbing for something or other, he laughed again and said oh yeah for sure, it just kind of takes turns who they gonna tease on any certain day.

I remember one night we had a chimney fire on a wooden house. The chimney needed to be cut away at the top, since I was one of the smaller guys guess who got the chainsaw? My buddy Todd who passed away the other day was one of the guys holding me by my coat while I cut the top of the chimney off. Didn't think anything of it at the time, looking back on it now what was I thinking??? :D

I learned from Todd's brother in law what happened to him at his funeral last week. He and his wife went to the mountains and took their 4 wheeler. It snowed 5" and they couldn't get up the driveway where they were staying so Todd unloaded the four wheeler off the trailer and somehow slid and went over the edge of the mountain while his wife watched from the truck. He had also been diagnosed with ALS 3 years ago is one of the reasons he retired from the FD. His doctor told him he may have 5 months or 5 years they didn't know. He was trying to enjoy life before it took a hold of him.
