Caught the last 40+ laps. Man, I was happy with just about anybody in the top 12 winning the race. I was rooting hard for the 8 or the 14. Bummed with the outcome, so much so that I can't even watch the replay of what happened, but really appreciate the sportsmanship they both exhibited after the race. Really gives me hope for the next generation of superstars. Onward to Talladega and I'm a little bit nervous. I'm hoping for an intense but clean race, and that they don't wad up too many cars.

I'm good with the outcome . But seriously, you have to feel for Reddick. I don't blame Briscoe for going for it, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the guy who has dominated the latter portion of the race. Reddick was absolutely right that he shouldn't have let Briscoe get that close, but he also shouldn't have gotten taken out. All part of racing though. I seem to remember Kyle and Kurt having a similar incident in the 2007 All Star race (although not going for the win yet) and not speaking to one another until Grandma sat them down later that year and basically chewed their asses.

Ratings are in and Bristol dirt had the highest Bristol ratings since 2016 and was higher than many of the races this year, which have overall been up 17% overall over last year. Some of that has to do with being on a main network, but still. It was 21% higher than last season, which was also run on a Monday. It received higher ratings than Richmond, Atlanta, or COTA.

Harvick is signed through '23 but I could see the continuation of Dirt Bristol and the new road course inclusions having an impact on his retirement plans. Ryan Preece is being groomed on the simulator right now to step into an SHR car for 2023. If they had to replace Almirola and Harvick, who else do you think they would bring into the fold? Would they put Preece in the #4 (company car) and Herbst (LOL) in the #10?

SHR has an interesting breakdown in ownership/mgmt. Tony has said it breaks down like this:

#4 Company car. #1 in the pecking order. Equal input from Tony & Gene
#41 Gene's project, runs as he pleases
#14 Tony's project, runs as he pleases
#10 Pay driver. Equal input from Tony & Gene

I’d LOVE to see it! Tony sees the value in Preece. I think that with the right people around him, he could be a breakout star. Definitely a Ford underdog to compete against Chevy’s Larson and Toyota’s Gibbs.

I'm getting a sneak peek at one of the yet-to-be-announced Darlington throwback cars in an hour :D
I'm not going this year as we are doing a Mother's Day Camping trip to the mountains.
The spring date is MUCH better than the Labor Day event and 100 miles shorter distance is also great. 500 miles at Darlington is a LONG race but one of the crown jewels that should be kept that way.
I attended Darlington last year. I drove there one-handed and all busted up as I'd just had a motorcycle wreck, breaking three bones and bruising and scraping myself up pretty hardcore. It's just such a pleasant track in the springtime.

Interesting. I don't even think JGR or Kyle Busch has officially announced that scheme yet.
