Not sure they'd fit there but they fit perfectly on the wood threshold in the Kimbo...last thing in and first thing out, usually LOL.

I would be very interested in hearing how the anti-condensation pad is working for you. A lot of people swear by them.

Sorry, I didn't do the quote thing correctly! I was responding to Profloundering's post about checking his ventilation mat under the mattress.

Gotcha. Yeah I can check mine too. Stays pretty dry here in CO though. Could use more of that moisture every once in a while.

So I still don’t have a kimbo.. yet. That’s going to change hopefully soon. Anyway, I have been living in my Tacoma for about 8 months now and have been through 2 of those mattress underlays. I don’t know what they ship with the kimbo but I tried a woven plastic style mat called “den dry” first and it fell apart. The woven plastic bits just started disintegrating and eventually I found condensation building up under the portion that had “thinned” out. I then switched to froli travel springs and wow what a difference. Highly recommend froli even though it costs way more, it’s super durable and I expect it to last

Saw this beast at the climbing gym last night. Hopefully will see it finished down the road.

I believe the Kimbos are outfitted with the Den Dry, looks very similar.

PXL_20220414_145359441.jpg PXL_20220414_145415521.jpgSince people are talking about ladders and step solutions for getting into the Kimbo I thought I'd share mine. Folding step that stows under the bumper when not in use. Made by Amp Research and sold as a factory installed option on the Tacoma. I use it to get into the bed when the tailgate is down when the Kimbo is off too and it works well.

Does that work with the tailgate down?

PXL_20220414_151231303.jpgYes. It sticks out to the side and provides a nice step to get up on the tailgate.

For those interested - I got responses on the weight of the Kimbo from Collin:
    - Fully Loaded with all options and with Jacks installed, Dry Weight: 1088lbs
    - Jacks Weight: 115lb

So, I am sure that some of the dry weights can be close to 900lbs for minimalist builds. Pretty darn good for the space!

He had it posted for sale about a year ago. Recently relisted it and took down his YouTube video and reposted it. Has some cool modifications but is setup more like a mobile office than a camper. A little unusual that he removed the mattress. I Love the generator setup he's got on the back.

Just goes to show how flexible this platform can be, although I have to admit some of the mods are a bit cringe worthy for me but it's truly a personal preference.
