Do you find the Gen3 Tacoma interior a bit small/crowded?

Its close if you by length for the two, but the width is where the gen1 tundra is larger. I think the height/room inside the cab was taller for the tundra also.

My Tacoma is my daily driver and hauler when we need to move things around. In a pinch I can take the family (wife’s and two kids), but it wouldn’t be my first choice for extended distances. That’s what we have the 4Runner for, so I’m getting the best of both worlds.

I’m 6’2’’ as well, and with my seat adjusted how I sit, I can sit behind the driver’s seat comfortably enough, though for a longer trip would be questionable.

Sure they are and my 2017 almost perfect for me and my family. We take it over wifey's subie (forester) all the time. Safe, reliable, comfortable, plenty of room in the bed for stuff (have a tonno) tri-fold). We have done many many car trips, camping, bikes, you name it - daily adventures etc...

Might be getting too old for this.
It's not great but could be worse. I remember our family of 4 sitting side by side in a '83 Toyota pick-up for years.

Same. Just spent 15 hours driving with a wife, grade school child and medium size dog. Everything non essential goes in the bed, where it is either tied down or under the bed cover, depending on how it fits. It was the most comfortable experience I have ever had driving long distance.

If you are used to driving a mini-van or SUVs like a Suburban or Expedition, then it will be small in comparison. Otherwise, it should be just fine if you have 4 or fewer family members (pets included) of moderate proportions.

I use to do 10 hr drives one way back in the day in toyota's 4wd compact pickups no problem. This gen3 is so much nicer if doing the same.

I find the new RAV4 seating position much better ….. I wish I could adjust my Tacoma seats that low

I'm on the north end of 6'3 and it's small truck even when I'm running solo. Thankfully my wife is 5'4, otherwise the new infant car seat wouldn't fit on the passenger side behind her. When our 5 year old sits behind me he is a little cramped, but we all fit.

My daily is a Titanium Ford Fusion and it is 10x more comfortable on longer trips, as well as my wife's Subaru Crosstrek.

I still love the Tacoma though, just wish it was a little more tall person friendly!

    Like, so many.
Once they outgrow the car seats you're good to go. I've got a preteen in the backseat with no issues at all.

Glad I'm not the only one.

My seat is all the way back, and still wish it could go back farther. Then my hair touches the headliner depending on how I sit. I also have to do a weird little dance to get my legs under the steering wheel when getting in or out.

Saw some guy on here was like 6'9 and I just don't understand how he fits in his truck. At almost 6'4, if I were any larger and I couldn't have bought the Tacoma..

It is all relative. We grew up in regular cab pickups (family of 4) it was fine back in the 70s since we didn’t know better, and didn’t use car seats. Plus we always had a 4D car or SUV (70-80s Jeep Wagoneer) for long trips, or would borrow my grandfather’s conversion van for anything over 10 hours. Wouldn’t want to fight with car seats in a Taco. Believe there is a window of time when the Tacoma is “just right”, the kids are big enough to be out of car seats, and hopefully they don’t get taller than 6’ before they move out.

We have both a pickup and SUV. The Taco is my personal run-a-round vehicle, size is great since I am solo in it 98% of the time, grab the SUV when we have to haul more than two people. More than that I’ll rent a minivan.

I know people had vehicle accidents back then, but I don't think they were as common as they are today.

There were probably more drunk drivers and passengers vehicles were less safe. It was unlikely for anyone to travel 90mph, today that is the average highway speed that people travel.

Yep, I feel that one. It's the same for me.

My wife laughs every time I go to get in the truck and have to dip under the wheel to clear my knees. Yet somehow, I still enjoy the heck out of the truck.

We lived in the country, with runs in to town. Rarely would get on the interstate. So speeds were never much above 55.

Ya back in the 1950s, and 60’s people would say “ They were going 50 Miles Per hour! “ like it was reckless
