I was going to install a new radiator support but the bushings didn’t want to line up, I go to check the frame and come find that it’s more than just a new radiator support . In short, has anyone swapped a 5 lug frame to a prerunner frame, or welded a front frame section of a prerunner? (it’s a 97 5 lug w 92k miles)C18C8B73-70A3-448A-9E1F-F8A326DF365D.jpg 3E22E9A5-66EB-48EB-B14E-8AB7D91C3671.jpg

Is the picture of the 5 lug? With a v6?

Didn't know that happened until x runners showed up.

They made them from 95-99 then they made them 00-04 but only for the srunner trim

It looks like your truck was in a accident so bad it bent the frame.
    5lug suspension isn’t anything like a 6lug.

Yes, if your making it a 4x4 your going to need transmission transfer case and drive shafts. You will need a 6lug rear axle. Also you make sure there is no difference in the Oil pans. On the 2.4 and 2.7 2wd the pan is much larger than the 4x4/prerunner and will hit the frame crossmember and front diff.

I plan on keeping it 2wd, can I just reuse the 5lug rear axle on the new frame?

You can but it will be a different wheel pattern than the front. Also it will be smaller than a standard 6lug axle. 7.5 vs 8.4 you will also need to weld on new leaf perches on the top of the axle. width is the same.
