    I'm planning on switching from my 3 inch spacers to a rough country 3.5 inch lifted strut. The current diff drop I have right now is 1 inch. Do y'all think that's enough? I'm worried about my CV angles. Any opinions?

    IMO 2" is perfect. 3" max and never go over. Not sure why RC even offers that kit. I've seen lots complain of way too much lift.

    I wanted to get a 3 inch strut but rough country only offers upper control arms for their 3.5 inch lifts. You think going 3.5 will be bad for the truck?

    Yes. Most people generally agree 3 inch is max for these truck without really getting into the weeds.

    So if I got the rough country 3 inch lifted strut what would yall recomend I do? I'm new to trucks so i'm not sure which UCA to get and camber stuff.

    The reason that people don't recommend a 3" lift on the 3rd gen Tacoma is because the 3rd gen already come 1" taller than the 2nd gen. So a 3" will actually be like a 4" lift on the 2nd gen. (Both gens share the same frame)
    If you go over 2" lift you'll need the get a set of UCA's to get your alignment correct.
    I would recommend SPC UCA's. You can read my links in my sig.

    Main difference is the adjustability of the SPC. I’ve ran sets on a couple different trucks and they’re awesome, however, you do need an alignment shop that knows how to dial them in.

    You just need to know how to tune them yourself. Then let the alignment shop fine tune. It's pretty easy. Set ball joint to F or G. F for more caster, G for more cab mount clearance. Max LCA cam bolts to push tire forward. Eyeball camber by adjusting upper ball joint and TQ to 220ftlbs. Then bring to alignment shop to fine tune caster and toe.

    JBA's are solid UCA. BUT! They add Caster which moves your tires rearward toward the Cab mount.
    You want to avoid adding too much CASTER.
    SPC are the most affordable, and the easiest to adjust for maximum Cab Mount clearance. (This is a proven fact)
    Everyone will have a great reason as to why they chose one over the other.
    However SPC's will give you the best chance of avoiding cutting your cab mount just to clear 33" tires.
    33" tires can fit on the truck with stock UCA's. (The wheel opening is large enough)
    But 99% of people who do aftermarket UCA's like Total Chaos, Camburg, JBA, etc..... that add Caster end up needing to chop their cab mounts.
    Stay away from UCA's that add high Caster!
    You actually need UCA's that can correct your CAMBER after a lift.

    It depends on your intended use of your truck?
    If it's only light off-roading on the weekends? I wouldn't recommend that you spend a lot of money for expensive aftermarket coil overs.
    Rock crawling moderate to serious overlanding? Then YES! I would consider a nice set of C/O as an investment.

    But for daily driving and weekend light OR? I would recommend Bilstein 5100's.
    They actually have better extended travel than most aftermarket CO's; even the TRD Pro Fox CO's.
    Very affordable and they are great on and off-road for light to moderate OR. (I would also keep the stock coils until they wear out) If you have the TRD OR Tacoma then your coils are rated for 700lbs. (More than a lot of aftermarket coils out t here)

    I've ran the 5100's on several of my vehicles and have no complaints.

    But again it would depend on your intended use for your Tacoma? The Sky is the limit when it comes to modifying these trucks! Be very carful! Your wallet can go into poverty very easily!:spending:
