I did the same thing… did weeks and months of market research and slept on it before I pulled the trigger. It’s a huge expense for something that you can’t touch or see, with so many variables. You can only do and see so much and get so close with all of the different modifications out there.

I installed Deaver Stage IIIs and Bilstein 5160s on the back, the same time I installed the bumper, so I can’t tell what the sag would be otherwise. I do know my OEM leafs were pretty much flat with my bed rack and bed truss, and maybe from the rock sliders. I didn’t want to tax them any further with the 100lb steel bumpers.

The Deaver leafs have added a few inches of lift in the rear and I think it looks great, but of course I’m biased. It is better than I imagined, for sure.

I’ll get the front bumper mounted soon. Maybe this weekend or next. And I have some Bilstein 6112s with 700lb springs at the top notch to hopefully even all of that out. I may need to adjust, if necessary.

Wow, so much has changed here! For what ever reason we don't get notifications on this thread anymore. Thank you Wayne for the detailed instruction list! If you wouldn't mind, we'd like to incorporate that into our official installation guide, with credit of course. On our truck, we ran stock leaves and the stock bilsteins with no issues, but they were definitely a little soft. Thanks for posting up photos of your rigs. Let us know your IG tags and we will post them up!

98 lbs without accessories. Accessories include stuff like fog light brackets, fairlead, winch, light bar, etc.. And I'd also like to mention that since this post debuted, the rear bumper has gained an additional 10lbs in material for strengthening purposes.

A few months after the first production run. Almost a year and a half ago.

I’m in the middle of installing the Apogee Gen 3 rear bumper. My stock rear bumper and hitch weighed in at 80 lbs. With the Gen 3 weighing 105 lbs - I was shocked to find it’s only a 25 lbs gain in weight. I highly doubt my suspension is going to lower at all!

    Awesome to hear!

That stock bumper and hitch receiver are boat anchors! We wanted to minimize the weight gains on our bumpers, and I think we've achieved a great balance of weight savings to strength.

Finished the install no change to rear suspension\height. I think it looks awesome. I'm going to have to let some air out of the spare. LT285/70R17 LRE spare is about an inch from the bottom of the frame. It's wedged between the hitch on the bumper and 2 exhaust hangers. 3 points of contact plus the chain it's not going anywhere, but I have OCD.

Does anyone have a picture with this bumper while towing? I am curious of how high the hidden hitch makes it and how much drop people are using.

Took me 4 months to make time, but I finally got the front bumper mounted and it’s a beauty. Super proud of it. Thanks @Apogee Offroad E53A39DB-8C6D-4DEE-98F1-A4EE3B7B20FC.jpg55B0C8A1-278D-41C4-850D-01CEEC910575.jpg

Thanks so much! The fit couldn’t have been any more perfect. I’m stoked to finally have it on, after stepping over it in my garage floor for the last 6 months or so.
