I used to jump and also hauled jumpers to build flying time. Was actually going to get back into it again about 4 years ago (at age 64) but my shoulders and knee had other ideas.

It's not just a sport...it's bad drug addiction. Last time I jumped was in 1995, and I still miss it. I was also hauling jumpers to build flying time. What more could I ask for? Skydiving, flying, partying, chasing women, and occasionally catching one! Good friend and old jumping buddy of mine worked for one of the gear manufacturers in Deland, FL. When we blab on the phone, it's like a couple of drug addicts recalling all the fun we had on a 15 year binder!

I just put my Funk 2 wing suit up for sale. 2 WS cutaways in about 74 WS jumps was enough for me! 1st one had me on my back spinning and thinking of taking a nap before cutting away, the 2nd was a packing issue with nothing but the d-bag dragging behind me, once inspected there seemed to be NO reason it didn't open. I had upsized to a Pilot 7 167 from a Pilot 140 for WS. Depending where this summer takes me, as in jumping or not, if jumping I will pick up either a Mutation 2 or an EMTD for fun play time and some horizontal flying without having my arms locked in a straight jacket haha

I suspect some type of safety cable under the sleeve of his shirt. The most batshit-crazy thing I recall is the guy doing a no-rig jump with shot bags mounted on the back of his harness to compensate for the weight of his rig. He had risers in his hands with B-12 snaps and docked on his buddies' leg straps that had D-rings mounted on them. Takes a LOT of trust in your friends!

You might be thinking of a jump plane that crashed right after takeoff at Hinckley.
